Historical Traveller Reviews of Hyatt Regency Bellevue Hotel

Convenient and Comfortable

from A TripAdvisor Member
I recently stayed at the Hotel and found that the recent upgrades were great. The rooms have flat screen TVs, granite baths and beautiful luxe furnishings. I actually preferred this Hotel to the new Westin Bellevue. The Hyatt is currently renovating their restaurant (12-05) but you can eat in their Sports Bar or walk across the street and be greeted by countless dining choices from Ruth's Chris to the Cheesecake factory. Great, upscale meeting space, most with windows. Guests can use the full Health Club and pool next door at no charge-a real plus. A walk across the street and you are at Bellevue Square's enclosed Mall and the brand new Lincoln Square with a full Cinema complex.

Comfortable, generic business hotel

from tsl1965
I stayed here 1 night for a business meeting the following morning. The hotel is a typical Hyatt business hotel, perfectly comfortable but nothing special. My room was very large with a nice view. I didn't care for the modern decor, but the furnishings were of good quality and very clean, with a firm and comfortable king bed. The bathroom was good sized and clean, with the usual amenities. The flat panel TV was nice, but unfortunately there was no way to switch to normal view on the wide screen. The staff were friendly and helpful, although they could have used an extra person at checkout time. The biggest problem was parking - both valet and self parking are in an underground garage, which the hotel shares with an adjoining boutique mall, and it was generally a mess during my stay.

Give it a miss...

I recently stayed at the Hyatt for 3 nights during a business trip. The hotel was well located to the shopping mall, restaurants and only about 15-20 minutes cab ride from Seattle. The staff were helpful and friendly, and managed to provide me with a bar fridge upon request so that I could store milk and fruit in my room (which I bought at the Safeway grocery store down the road). There is no gym in the hotel however they do permit you to use the very nice gym across the way free of charge once you have obtained a pass from reception. The inconvenience is that you have to obtain a pass every time you want to attend rather than one pass for your entire stay. The hotel room was very plain and felt a little dirty which was not helped by the housekeeping people not making the bed (they did, however, pull up the sheets) and not taking away rubbish from my room (they would leave it outside the door of the room for collection which is not great to come back to). The bed was comfy. Cost to get to the airport by taxi is about $40-50USD. Would not recommend this hotel unless someone wanted an average 3* and is not looking to spend a lot of time there.

t even think about it!!!

My mother and I rented a week here and was very disappointed. I requested a Suite when I made the reservation and was given a standard room with two double beds and a bath. There were no suites upon my arrival. When I walked into my room it was very noticable that the carpet wasn't vaccumed, finger prints were on the furniture, and there were no towels or toilet paper in the bathroom. Ahhh!!! The next morning I woke up with someone else hair under the covers with me and that explained why I was itching while trying to sleep. To all readers of this review PLEASE think twice about this hotel.

Nice Hotel - Renovated room

from A TripAdvisor Member
I stayed at the Hyatt for a business meeting. The room was recently renovated. The bed was the best hotel bed I have slept in quite a while. It had a new flat screen TV in the room. The TV would not power on with the remote control and required getting up to turn on the TV. The desk had wired high speed internet (for a $10 fee). I used full gym with lap pool is available for a $10 additional fee (or 3 visits for $20). The gym is located across from the entrance, in the attached building in Bellevue Plaza. A Mall and movie theatre complex is a short walking distance away.

Excellent Room, Excellent Service!

from svacuna50
After reading other reviews, I requested a room on an upper floor and was assigned to the 22nd floor. Spectacular view, luxurious room! Definitely a renovated room, its beds were heavenly and the flat panel TV a treat. The bathroom was beautiful - love the curved shower curtain rod. The one-cup-at-a-time coffee maker was unusual, but we were given extra coffee pods by request, at no extra charge. In fact, all our requests were dealt with almost immediately.

We had to ask for toilet paper right off the bat, because we didn't spot the holder hidden under the countertop, behind a wooden overhang. Even sitting on the toilet, it was hidden from view! When the housekeeping rep arrived (new roll in hand), she ducked down and pointed out the holder to us.

Though the room was small and business oriented (no seating except for an office chair, no pool or hot tub), it had 2 large closets, lots of pillows, and was perfectly clean and new smelling. Because the hotel is located across from Bellevue Square (an upscale mall) and just a quarter mile from beautiful Downtown Park, we walked everywhere. We did pay $11 to park in the garage, but we expected that from a downtown hotel (however, there is no mention of it on the hotel web site).

I don't know if I'd stay again, because there isn't a lot of room for relaxing, but then again - $75/night for a 4-star hotel (thanks, Hotwire) is nothing to sneeze at!

Very old and run down

from A TripAdvisor Member
This hotel is in the process of renovating its upper floor rooms, and that's a good thing b/c my room was so dated and ugly. I have never stayed at a Hyatt this bad. The bathrooms were not nice, very dingy and the bedding was terrible. I would only stay at this hotel again if I could get a renovated room.

The lobby area is nice.....

from A TripAdvisor Member
We stayed at this Hyatt at the end of December 2004. In contrast to the nice public areas, our room was very dark, and the smell or air-freshener was so strong, I really wondered what they were trying to cover up! A closer look found the room to be somewhat dirty as well. We obtained this hotel through priceline at a very low rate, and would have been extremly disappointed if we had paid a regular rate.

Overall, this hotel did not live up to what I would expect from a Hyatt Regency hotel.

very nice

My husband, baby and I stayed at this hotel on a travel agent rate. once we got there the hotel looked beautiful!
Once we checked into our room, we were very pleased. They were spacious rooms and I do not have any complaints about the bed.
Bathroom was also spacious and lots of room for my little one year old to run around in.
Staff was pleasent to deal with and the location of the hotel was very convenient. I would defintely stay again!

christmas at the hyatt

My wife and I stayed at the HYATT REGENCY for one week at christmas 2004 and found the rooms to be confortable, but what impressed us most was the wonderful friendly people who work there. We would recommend this hotel to anyone.

Top Local Tips for Bellevue

Lots of variety There are many restaurants, movie theatres, theatres for plays, shopping areas in the area. It's about a 20 min drive to Seattle and many different ways to get there. It's quieter than downtown and more sophisticated. Parks are close by in Medina and on Mercer Island. All in all a beautiful place to visit.

Shop-A-Holics Beware If you're into middle to high end clothes shopping (ladies!!), don't feel that you have to go to Downtown Seattle. Bellevue Square offers as much variety as Nordstrom's or any other "boutique" stores downtown. You'd be hardpressed to not find what you're looking for -- plus, north up the highway, is the Seattle Premium Outlet Mall that has amazing variety and deals. Stop there first, if you're heading south to Bellevue.

Boat trip on Lake Washington The boat trip on Lake Washington is a great thing to do!
