Top Local Tips for Williamsburg

The Colonial Parkway is Not Well Marked The Colonial Parkway runs from Yorktown underneath Colonial Williamsburg and to Jamestown. Trying to find an access to this road was frustrating as the accesses do not seem to be well marked.

Taverns and Richmond Road Though pricey, I highly recommend a meal at the Kings Arms Tavern. The food and atmosphere should not be missed! Another Tavern to visit is Chouney's in the evening. They have strolling Musicians, magicians, period games and all the fresh virginia peanuts you can eat at each table. Not far from the Visitors Center is Richmond Road with an amazing assortment of restaurants. There is something for every taste and the seafood house we ate at served up a 8 oz Lobster tail & an 8 oz fillet mignon for under $40.00 and it was prepeared excellently

More time Give yourself at least three days in the area. We tried to do it as a side trip from DC, but we were left wanting to see more.
