Great Hotel, Terrible Staff!

I first want to say that the hotel was outstanding and a great bargin but the staff was really bad and had the worst customer service I have ever experienced. Even after complaining, no improvement. If the staff improve, then I would tell everyone to spend their time there. Good luck, there are a ton of other great hotels in Williamsburg that would love your time and money.

Looking for fun? Williamsburg is an amazing place, that offers something for everyone. A theme park for the adventureous, many places to tour that are rich in history, numerous shopping opportunities, and great food! Captain George's is one of the best restaurants I have ever eaten in, and not only is the food superb, the atmosphere is wonderful. The restaurant is beautiful, comfortable, and has a wonderful staff. Many of the attractions are close to one another, so there is not a lot of driving involved, which of course means more time for fun. Yorktown and Jamestown are close by, and have several things to offer a visitor as well. The Jamestown - Scottland Ferry is a lovely ride across the James River. If you stand in the front by the gate during the middle/fastest part of the ride, you just may get splashed! My kids loved it! (As did I!) Although I have visited Williamsburg hundreds of times, I will continue to vacation there for years to come.

hard to get taxi if you come in on a Sunday, it may be hard to get a taxi, or you might have a long wait. Buses do not run on Sundays. Buses run every hour, but all wait at the transportation center so if you need to transfer, you will not miss the bus

Plan for some accessibility issues with the restored buildings. If you have trouble getting around be aware that there is lots of walking to and from shuttles and some accessiblity issues with some of the buildings. Plan for the heat of the summer by checking the weather. There is little reklief from the heat.Check beforehand to see how many buildings are open the day of visit and be prepared for waiting in line to enter buildings. There was quite a long line at the capitol
