I made a reservation to stay here with a package thru the Go Williamsburg website. I called the hotel directly 2 days later to change the dates since my husband couldn't get off at the originally scheduled time. (My call was made in plenty of time as it was one month prior to my original travel date and 2 months before my new one). The person I spoke with told me it was taken care of. Well, there was a no show charge on my credit card statement for my original trip date. It took several calls to the hotel where they basically told me they couldn't help me if I didn't know the person's name with whom I spoke and I couldn't make changes through them anyway. They had no reservations for me on the new date either. The person I spoke with kept telling me they had to "check with their manager and call me back". Why couldn't the manager (or someone with the authority to make a decision) call me? They finally found an employee who remembered my call and credited back the room charge. Lousy customer service for a well-known chain. I have no desire to stay there anymore.

My family and I went to the Hilton Garden Inn this past June. I've gotta tell you, I'm NEVER going back. There was a big argument at the front desk between my wife and the desk clerk. Then, after we checked in, even though we had asked for a non-smoking room because of my daughter's asthma, we were still stuck in a smoking room. She was coughing so bad, we packed up and left. Nobody even said anything to us when we checked out. So, I'd say if you want family fun, DON'T come to Hilton Garden Inn. Why? Because it can be summed up in one word- PATHETIC!!!

Fine Stay at the Hilton Garden Inn

We recently returned from our second stay at this nice property. Upon check-in, the staff was very friendly and courteous. There was a tray of cookies by the front desk which was nice for a snack after long hours on the road.

The rooms here are pretty nice. The decor is typical of most Hilton Garden Inns. The bedspread and general room motif is flowers with warm wood tones. The rooms are on the smallish side, but adequate. The rooms also have a small area with a refrigerator and microwave, something many hotels don't offer, or charge you for. The bathrooms are fine, with nice granite counters, but the water pressure in the shower wasn't the best.

There is an indoor pool and jacuzzi typical of most hotels, with a small fitness room off of it. The business center is convenient to check e-mails. The hotel's location is very close to many restaurants. The Seafare and Red Hot & Blue are both right across the parking lot.

I would recommend the Hilton Garden Inn for anyone looking for clean, pleasant rooms in Williamsburg in a newer (5 or 6 year old) hotel.

Very Nice Hotel

My family enjoyed our three night stay. The hotel is a short drive from the Colonial Williamsburg area and the College of William and Mary. The front desk staff was very courteous and the property was clean. The continental breakfasts were very adequate and our room was comfortable. We happened to have a handicapped room and it was huge. Beacause of its large size, it was hard to regulate the a/c even though the room had two units but overall it was acceptable. The only shortcoming was the competition for use of the one computer in the business center. A second would help greatly. Over the past 35 years I have stayed at 10 different Williamsburg motels/hotels and this was as good as any.

I thought it was a very nice place to stay. At $69 a night,it was well worth it. Clean and convenient location near many restaurants. Would stay here again.

front desk horror

Beware! There is NOT 24 front desk service or ability to have late check in as advertised. The girl working the desk when we arrived after calling to arrange a late check in was extremely rude, lazy and even threatened to hit me when I said the way she was treating us was disgusting. Aside from this girl most employees were friendly and hotel is very clean.

Not Up To Normal Standards

A recent stay at the Hilton Garden Inn for a weekend in Williamsburg, Va. left me feeling I was not staying at the Hilton facilities to which I have become accustomed. Many areas of the facility need a good refreshening. Our room, needed to be updated. It definitely looked the worse for wear. The carpet was dirty and stained. I left a request with room service to please clean the carpet. That did not get done. The sink in the bathroom was cracked.The staff at the check-in desk were very friendly and pleasant. Check-in and check-out were uneventful. The way it should be. Not a bad hotel. Simply not up to the standards for any hotel within the price range.

Absolutely horrible service

This hotel is absolutely horrible. I never even got a chance to check in! Booked a room two weeks in advance through (---) and reserved a non-smoking room. The website mentioned NOTHING about the rate being a "house rate", meaning the hotel can put you in any room they have left. Every other time i have made a reservation online where a smoking and bedding preference is not guaranteed, the reservation shows a REQUEST, this one showed a CONFIRMED room. Anyway, the hotel tried to put us in a smoking room, claiming that there were 15 other rooms that reserved non-smoking that had to be put in smoking rooms. After fighting for over two hours with 1800 hiltons representatives and the hotel directly, i was told they would cancel my reservation, however i was still charged over 150$. The room rate was 100$/night. Absolutely ridiculous. Hotel front desk is unaccomodating and rude, and blatantly hung up on me not just once, but TWICE. DO NOT STAY HERE. The comfort inn colonial is closer to Colonial Williamsburg, the staff was extremely friendly and accomodating, room was large and very clean, and the room was MUCH less expensive. The Hilton Garden Inn is awful.

This Hilton Garden Inn was just right for our 3 night stay in Williamsburg. A low price in a convenient location (near restaurants), coupled with an unusually friendly & helpful staff was right on the mark for our family.

We stayed here for 3 nights. Staff was very helpful and courteous. Very convenient location - plenty of quality restaurants within walking distance. Excellent exercise facility (treadmill, elliptical trainer, hot tub, pool, etc). rooms were clean and comfortable. Business center was useful for checking email. No problems at all. Will stay here again next visit.

Busch Gardens Great value for money and lots to do in the Park, best time to go is NOT during school holidays

Best shopping in town Must go to the Williamsburg Mall. Great after Christmas sales. The Yankee candle factory is just a few steps from hotel and a wonderful place to go to if you are into candles and such.

Check the prices Visit central office at local outltes to receive extra discount vouchers. Sometimes savings are not significant. Yankee candle factory and shop within walking distance of hotel.
