Nice Hotel !

Overall the Quality Inn in Wiliamsburg was a nice hotel. The hotel has been recently renovated and everything including the bathrooms has been cleaned or replaced. The hotel is conveniently located to the historic district. It was only about 3 miles to the Colonial Williamsburg visitors center (at the most). We also found restaurants very close by and had no problems getting around.

I also found the saff to be very helpful! The first night we had a problem with a water drip and they promptly moved us to another room in the morning. No problems or questions asked. The curtains in the room are a bit tricky, but once I asked how to close them the front desk explained how to close the drapes for night so it was dark.

I did go to the continental breakfast and it was really a waste. We did end up eating out for breakfast at local restaurants. I have definitely seen better breakfasts in the morning.
The area for breakfast is also a long walk to a restaurant that is no longer used except for the breakfasts.

I would recommend the hotel if you are looking for a low end hotel. If you are expecting a resort this isn't the hotel for you.

Lumpy beds

This hotel was clean and well-decorated BUT there were problems. The beds were lumpy and the curtains were designed so that they couldn't close which meant that the room was very light all night. At the bare-minimum continental breakfast there was no milk. A guest complained at the front desk and an employee came and filled the pitcher with just enough milk for the 3 people waiting. There was instant oatmeal but no microwave with which to fix it.

Good Basic Hotel

My family and I stayed at this hotel for two days while visiting the Williamsburg area.

We found the room very clean and everything was in working order. The showers worked fine and had plenty of hot water. The room had a coffee pot but it did not have a microwave or refrigerator.

The employees were very friendly and helped us several times during our stay.

They serve a continental breakfast which varies from day to day, but generally consists of bagels, cinnamon rolls, cereals, sometimes muffins, coffee, tea, orange and apple juice.

The pool is not open this time of year, so I cannot rate it.

We had a very nice stay here.

Pleasant stay

My husband and I spent part of our anniversary here and were very pleased. We stayed in the same hotel about 4 years ago and it left a lot to be desired. We decided to take a chance and book again and to our surprise they remodeled and things look great. The rooms are much improved and the staff was very friendly. Our room was very clean and comfortable. We will definitely stay here again when we are in Williamsburg.

Excellent hotel and value

We made a last minute trip down to Williamsburg for the weekend. This hotel is emaculate, staff is excellent and the price is VERY reasonable. We found it to be $30-$40 cheaper than any other comparable hotels and it was terrific, (and we are choosy).

Nice place to stay...good for families w/ children.

Quality Inn Historic in Williamsburg is a great place to stay...esp. if you are on a budget. It is nicely decorated...recently renovated, I believe. The staff was friendly and helpful. The hotel is not elaborate, but very nice. The rooms are a little larger than average, including a desk & arm chair. Everything seemed clean. A continental breakfast is included w/ stay, which is great if you have a family. It includes bagels, sticky buns, cereal, muffins, OJ, milk, & coffee. The cafe is a little out of the way...down a first floor hallway and out through an exit door toward the pool, so it's not easily found unless you ask the front desk. Hotel is within a great proximity to restaurants, Busch Gardens & Colonial Williamsburg. We will definitely stay there again and would recommend this to people of all ages.

No problems...great location, good breakfast with plenty of room to sit down, very new and upscale (for a Quality) hotel, clean rooms with nice decor and upscale decor....what else can I stay...a great stay and value in every way!!!!

clean and comfortable good location

This is a nice clean hotel. Recently remodeled stayed for 3 nights always had a clean room in the evening when we returned. Didn't try the breakfast thing or the pool so no info there but did see the pool and it is an average size pool and it looked nice and clean. The only complanit I have is the T.V.s in all the rooms have been altered so that you can't turn them to loud which is bad if someone is hard of hearing. Don't bring any portable dvd players or game consoles they have altered the T.V.s so you cannot use them which is stupid because they don't offer any kind of rentals so why can't you watch a movie through there tv or let your kids play a video game through there tv. We have stayed at several of this chains offerings and I would say this is one of the better ones. Not sure about the price we used points for the stay and at only 6000 pts. a night we thought it was a good deal. I would stay here again.

substandard Continental Breakfast

I'm writing this review during our stay. Overall, so far, the hotel is OK. It is clean and new looking, but the breakfast was SUBSTANDARD. There was very little selection, and what was there was not very appetizing. The oranges had a white mold on them. There was one half of one loaf of white bread available (no other options). There was no staff or wait service on hand at all to assist us or to keep the area cleaned up and supplied. We've been to many hotels, with many continental breakfasts, this was easily the worst. When I asked the GM about this, his answer was that they meet the minimum standards required by Quality Inns. So much for striving to meet standards!

We just returned from a 3 night stay at the quality inn historic. booked it through gowilliamsburg and got buy 2 day bounce ticket get 1 day free. so we spent 3 days at the parks. The hotel was very nice and clean! The breakfast wasnt much, and was over by 9am. It is conveinant to restaurants and colonial williamsburg is only 5 min away. The parks was about a 5-10 min drive away. The hotels are so close together on the roads, any one of them would be just as close. The restaurant across the street next to days inn, gazebo pancake house was very nice. We also ate at cracker barrel 1 block away for breakfast, it was very crowded by 8-830am. There are plenty hotels and restaurants along the path to the parks, and mc donalds and wendys are open when u get out of the parks. I thought it was very nice, and enjoyable vacation. The pool was clean and big and they let us swim at 11pm when we returned from the parks. The staff was friendly and I would go back and stay again.

Top Local Tips for Williamsburg

Museums Newport, Va is about a 20 minute drive from the hotel. There are some really great museums in the area such as the Virginia Living Museum & the Mariners Museum

Tourist Williamsburg As far as Williamsburg is concerned, I agree with another reader. Don’t get caught up buying tickets immediately. In fact , DO NOT park at the visitors main area. Drive your car into town. You can park for free near the merchants Square. Get an idea what’s there, then if you decide to stay, buy a ticket. You can walk around for free, but visits indoors require a pass. And visit Yorktown and Jamestown (not the tourist settlement, the Historic Park). I purchased the entertainment book on line before traveling there., it was worth the current $15. Kyoto Japanese habich was fun, if you have kids this is a must.In historic merchant Square eat at Seasons. nothing exceptional, but food was good.

Sal's by Victor Sal's by Victor is a good Italian restaurant right around the corner. The service was incredibly fast, especially considering we were in a party of 10. The calamari was great!
