Turtle Cay is an good option for VB

The Turtle Cay is a pleasant place to stay directly across from the Beach. However, I strongly recommend that you don't stay in the lowest price rooms as they are much less desirable then the rooms with balconies and a full kitchen. The low price run about $188 in the summer and I feel that is over priced for these undesirable rooms. The next step us is $40 dollars more but are very nice since I have stayed in both. The pool closes early at 10:00 and the music constantly playing at the pool can be a bit annoying. I would say this is a good place to stay, but there is a downside as well.

This place is the most unethical establishment I have ever encountered.
They sent me a confirmation for a reservation and 3 days before I was to arrive they called and said they were having room problems and cancelled my reservation. They said they rebooked me in a local holiday inn. When I called the holiday there was no reservation. All efforts to resolve with turtle cay proved fruitless so my vacation at virginia beach was ruined. Pls beware... these folks are beyond bad..they dont care whose vacation they ruin and they dont return calls or anything.

My family owens at Turtle Cay and i think it so wonderful there, even though it's not a beach front property. All of their staff was so nice and they had pretty decent front desk service. Thier pool's are great and so are the hot tubs. The rooms are very well kept and if you do have a problem they will fix it right away. Everyone that thought the hotel was terrible needs to go agian to see that it is really a great place and all the activites they provide and all the acomadations make up for it not being on the beach.( even though it is only right across the street ). I have been going to Turtle Cay for 5 years now and never, do i mean never did i every have any problem. If you haven't been their yet i think you sould go and test it out yourself.

We have recently purchased a timeshare at Turtle Cay in Virginia Beach.
We are totally fed up and frankly disturbed by the treatment of our "personal vacation counselor" . As a new owner we had no idea about policy at the resort. payment, fees, check- ins etc. Our counselor was unwilling to admit any mistakes or errors on their part..did I mention she was our personal counselor??? No one ever answers the phone at the owners association line. Whatever I could go on forever...haven't even been there yet and totally aggrivated....don't buy RUN!!! Bill & Joanne Boltja

We came to visit family in Va Beach and stayed at Turtle Cay and will definitely be back next year. The place is beautiful. The staff is extremely helpful and they always have a smile on their face. I don't know what the other reviewers were talking about b/c their staff is wonderful. They even gave us coupons for all kinds of great restaurants. The pools are nice too, one even has a waterfall. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone!

Our week (mid-May) was terrific: lovely units, friendly fellow-guests, uncrowded beach and local businesses, and a very friendly and helpful, accommodating staff. Would go again in a heartbeat! Whatever problems might have existed earlier in the year seem to have been resolved.

Best Stay On The Beach

My husband and I usually Spend our vacation in Florida. I decided we needed a change,We drove to Virgina beach because i had visited there when I was a child. When I saw the grounds of the Turtl Cay I feel in love. The hotel is just beatiful, The staff was everything I could have asked for. I have never been more pleased. I am sure all hotel have a bad day or even sometimes things are not just right at first. But we came to rest and relax, After the check inn was over we were informed of all the exciting events taking places all the wonderful places to. like i said we went to relax not to complain. Sometime I think people go out of town just so they can complain LOUDLY>>>

we are in timeshare,this year we came to Turtle cay,we had lots of fun we relaxed alot,the staff was great,the room very clean,the parking lots outstanding,this is really a nice place to come,with clean pools,and hot tubs this is a plus,so get on the plane,or get in your car and come to Turtle cay,you will be glad that you did,the greatchildren saw our pictures and are ready to come,they rather come there than see Mickey in FLA.

I love the Turtle Cay. Every year I go for a few days, It is one luxury I provide my self on a yearly basis. I find the staff very friendly, and THIS YEAR THE WASHERS AND DRYERS ARE IN!!!!! A #1 in my book!!!

What a disappointment -- and we're owners! The staff was INCREDIBLY RUDE and the jacuzzi was broken so it seemed like a big petri dish. Plus the nose was NOT TO BE BELIEVED.1st class rates, below budget service and accommodations. There are better buys on the beach.

Top Local Tips for Virginia Beach

Pick Date Wisely We went at the end of March. We saw there were dolphin tour on kayaks, parasailing, jet skiing, etc all to do. When we tried to set up reservations, nothing was available until next week. We were too early to enjoy any of the summer activities. They advertise it year round but it is not available all year. So make sure to confirm your outdoor activities before booking.

What we did and enjoyed Awful Arthur's www.awful.com great seafood, amazing! Located in great part of VA Beach as well. Parking right in front of the establishment. Friendly staff! Generous glasses of wine! : ) Harpoon Larry's Killer Seafood www.harpoonlarryskillerseafood.com Horrible, tight parking, bring change so you can park on the street at the meters. Seafood is good. Bar-like atmosphere, same as Awful Arthur's but the restaurant is separated at both locations. Both are worth the trip. Not worth the trip is the DW's Mongolian Babrecue Grill. Too noisey of an atmosphere and I like more dining privacy than they provide. However, the food was fresh and I like the concept of cooking whatever you select as your meal from the buffet and the sauces. However depending upon the cook's level of interest, that can make or break you meal experience. The first cook we had could care less and the food was bland, the second cook was preparing our meal with love and we could tell the difference.

Coupons Everywhere Look for the booklets with coupons and maps. You will find lots of places to eat/ things to do and most places have coupons. However small some of the discounts may be, they are all a help when on vacation to save a few bucks.
