We love Virginia Beach.

everything was great. The rooms are newly remodeled. We stayed there 9 years ago, Liked it then, except for the pool, It is shaded by around noon. Everyone who worked there were very friendly. The Maids were polite, always had a smile and said hello. My husband and I have been going to virginia beach for 13years now. We love it there. We plan our vacation around the dinner specials at Mahi Mah's Tuesday night they have the best deal, 19.95 Prime rib(nice size) and 1lb. whole Lobster. and baked potato and veggies. it's great. got to go early it starts at 5:00. It does get busy. and that was in Oct. All in all Virginia Beach is for Lovers.....

Just returned from a 4 night stay at the Breakers , and it was very nice. Clean, and the staff was very friendly. Easy parking and easy access to restaurants, shopping, etc. The little restaurant in the hotel was the best breakfast and reasonable. The rooms were short on storage space, but other than that...great place to stay.

I have not one complaint about the Breakers Resort, our oceanfront room was perfect. It was very clean and all of the furnishings were new; including the new cabinet for the tv, desk, and nighttables. The bathroom was beautiful, complete with a new sink and shower. Also to our surprise, we had a new microwave and fairly large frig. The maids are very pleasant and do a wonderful job. Another plus was the newspaper waiting outside your door every morning. Would definety stay here again.

All the staff were great in accomodating all my guests for my wedding in April 2004. Even with being in the midst of a major remodeling ordeal, they went above and beyond the call of duty for family and friends who came from all over the US. Even the construction crew were friendly. Food at their restaurant was great. Many plan to return and stay again at the Breakers. We all loved the fact that it was a smaller hotel with all rooms facing the ocean and a relaxing atmosphere throughout the building. Thank you again!!

My First Stay here, Great! Second, Average...

Some of the rooms at the Breakers are as good as new, like the one I stayed in my first time. Second time, it was ok. The room was kinda dirty and had marks on the walls, but it was still ok

25 years and still love it

We have stayed at thr Breakers for 25 years every July or August and will continue to stay there for our next vacations.We have been there to see all the changes and have talked to management about future changes.

We love the location and that part of the beach.We think the pool area could be bigger and the pool larger too but you go to the beach for the ocean and sand not swimming pools.We have always gotten good service and clean rooms!If we wanted glitz we could stay somewhere else.This is a good "family run" hotel and for the money and location we recommend the Breakers to all our friends.

In the midst of it all

The hotel is located right on the oceanfront, and the view was fantastic! We stayed in one of the suites. Our room was very clean, had a nice size jacuzzi and there was a small kitchen equipped with toaster, microwave, coffemaker, pots, plates, cups, utensils....everything except food. Overall, it is a great place to stay for a reasonable price. The only problem we had was that the bed SQUEAKED!

We were prepared for the worst but it was fine! These places definitely take a beating from college kids and sand, but our room was clean and quiet. The rooms are compact, but all have an oceanfront balcony and the location is great. We didn't use the pool, it's small and nothing fabulous. For the price, it was great for our short stay.

The good and the BAD

We were initially VERY pleased with our accomodations at the Breakers Inn this summer. The rooms were immaculate, the bathrooms were clean and sanitary, there was a restaurant on site, and the location was right in the center of it all. Our stay was extremely pleasant. . .
.until we checked out. Our rooms had been paid for in advance IN FULL.
. .that is until we attempted to turn in our room keys and leave. Then we were told that there was the small matter of a $168!!!! balance on our bill. After several minutes of heated arguing, it was discovered this was a computer glitch. However, the staff was adamant that we were to pay this amount and that it was not their mistake. This put us an hour behind our departure time and insured that we would NEVER stay at the Breakers again. Be forewarned when you go to depart. . . .it may not be as smooth as you think it will be. And the staff doesn't understand what PAID IN FULL really means.

Top Local Tips for Virginia Beach

Go on the dolphin cruise ! The Rudee Flipper Dolphin Cruise is not expensive and definitely worth the money. We went on the sunset cruise and saw tons of dolphins as well as stingrays. The tourguide was knowledgeable and humorous.

Bring Your Bikes to Virginia Beach First off, you would not catch me dead in a pair of bike shorts!!! I am not that kind of rider. I like to cruise around with the kids, hit the Starbucks on 31st Street, and continue up to First National State Park. It is the best kept secret in Virginia Beach. Virginia Beach is just about all accesible with bikes. The last trip I went, in January (Really lucked out on the Weather!!). Saturday, drove up to the National Seashore @ the South end of Sandbridge, Rode around the park, trails and even the beach. (Down by the water on the hard sand, still was not easy) Continued on, and rode around Sandbridge, checking out all the houses, and soaking up the Sun. Saturday, took off from the Hotel after Breakfast, rode down through the neigborhoods until 64th street. You can access First Landing State Park there, and ride another few miles to Ocean View. Great!! I wore the kids out, and even tricked myself into a little exercise. That was just a one night stay!!
