Top Local Tips for Virginia Beach

Whale-watching I know whale-watching is not an guaranteed thing, but after being in the Virginia Beach area where it is advertised, I learned that a whale-sighting around there is a very rare thing. So I recommend not to even subject yourself to this. Not worth it! You just end up paying $30 dollars a piece, freeze your bum off and get jostled around enough to make you and about everyone else on the boat very seasick. And I would like to mention that I was even wearing a prescription medicated transaderm patch for motion-sickness.

Lots of military museums and attractions Take the naval base tour, and go over to Hampton to the Virginia Air and Space Museum. Kids will love these.

Parks We really enjoyed the False Cape State Park and First Landing State Park-both a must see!
