Great place, low price - appx. $260 for a one week stay, and only 10 minutes from the airport. I'm reviewing InTown Suites at 12015, Jefferson Ave, Newport News, VA 23606. Do NOT confuse it with InTown Suites at 11931 Jefferson Ave, Newport News, VA 23606. They are appx one block apart on the SAME side of the street. The one I'm reviewing has rooms that MUST be accessed via an interior corridor. The other one, that I'm NOT reviewing, has rooms with individual entry-doors located outside. We had to use our card key to get INSIDE the building and gain entry access to any of the rooms. The office is the only thing accessible from outside. Our very clean, non-smoking room had a stove, refrigerator, microwave, one roll of toilet paper, and 1 set of clean towels per couple. There were no pots, pans, plates, cups, utensils, iron/ironing board, etcetera. It is more for someone that needs a place to stay, but has all their own supplies i.e., short term apartment seekers. During our 1 week stay, we purchased extra rolls of toilet paper from a local store and washed the towels in the hotel laundry room. The rooms are cleaned once per week, but our cleaning only entailed making the bed and emptying the trash, without changing the bed sheets, towels, trash bags, nor vacuuming the floors. Since we comprehend that it was more a short term apartment than hotel, then it was not a major problem, but would have been an added touch. Our $50 room deposit was credited back to our card without delay. The general manager, Veronica Holloway, was very cordial. She pleasantly greeted us and processed our check-in and cordially completed our check out. I would DEFINITELY stay there again, but be advised that the office does NOT function 24 hours. You can NOT check in after closing, nor on Sundays and holidays. I think the office closed at 7pm Mon-Sat and didn't open at all on Sundays, nor holidays. The only other drawback is that although they take phone, and online confirmations, they do NOT take a credit card to guarantee the room will be held prior to your arrival. In other words, if they have no openings when you get there, then you better have a back up plan with a credit card confirmed room somewhere else - which we had the foresight to do. Upon arrival, after securing the room, we canceled our backup room in enough time to avoid penalty, or charge. Oops! I almost forgot one more thing. They have free wireless Internet access via a code they provide, so you can get your wireless laptop computer online and Web surf.
