Zeffirellis Italian Restaurant Wonderful atmosphere, italian waiters, italian music, great authentic italian food. Be prepared to spend some moolah though!

Venture across the street As mentioned in my review, several good restaurants can be found by crossing the street to the plaza with the Marriott Suites. TurCuisine, Matsutake, and the Wings place are my three favorites depending what I'm in the mood for. Houlihan's isn't bad either if you don't want to leave the hotel. Friday's bar is open until 1-2am depending on the night.

Convenient and safe public transporation near this hotel We drove to this hotel but didn't want to spend time or money parking downtown, so we opted to take public transporation. There is a bus stop next door to the hotel in front of Wendy's - the bus ran every half hour and took about 10-15 minutes to get to the Metro station which will take you downtown. The bus is $1 per person per ride (exact change only). Once at the Metro station (West Falls Church) we each bought a day pass which was a great idea because we used the Metro so often that day. It takes about 10-15 minutes to get to the city center from West Falls Church. The Metro was clean, safe, and efficient. Trains came once every 10 minutes (this was on Thanksgiving day - they may have been running on a reduced schedule). On the way back from downtown, the bus is at the same location it dropped you off at the West Falls Church Metro station and drops you off across the street (kitty-corner from the Wendy's) across from a gas station. It's a 5 minute walk back to the hotel.
