Top Local Tips for Harrisonburg
Great Antiquing on Route 11 Route 11 is one of the most scenic roads in America. Take a side trip off of Interstate 81 and travel through some of the beautiful towns on Route 11. There are great antique stores, shops, and villages along the way. Stop at the Wayside Inn in Middletown for delicious peanut soup (much better than Williamsburg) or at Route 11 Potato Chips. Strasburg is the antique capital. Enjoy the drive into Americana.
History worth the time New Market Battlefield (Civil War era) is a beautiful museum and grounds to explore.
Great Indian food in Harrisonburg We stumbled across a great Indian buffet over in Harrisonburg. It's called Bombay Courtyard and is a couple miles down the street from the Village Inn. The owner's name is Wilma and she was very friendly, so much so that she invited to take us for a local hike the next time we're in town! Judging from the freeways signs to Harrisonburg we were expecting to dine at a Burger King or Taco Bell. So this was a very pleasant surprise!
