Service
from sborwickWe got married at the Inne on the 2nd February and Lyn organised everything - it was the most perfect and romantic day.
We would not consider staying anywhere else when we next visit Stowe.

thank you
Super 25th Anniversary!
from A TripAdvisor MemberWe stayed in the Bluff House, which was very clean & very comfortable. Our dinner included in the package at Mr. Pickwick's was excellent, as well as the baked goods at the afternoon teas - yum - we had the best scones we have ever eaten! The breakfasts were also very good, although the service was a tad slow.
Chris gave us great recommendations on where to eat our other meals as well as information about where to cross country ski, etc. He even made reservations for a great Italian restaurant one night while we played cribbage in the lobby.
The guys at the bar at the Inne were also fun and again very accommodating. We just can't say enough great things about our stay there.

Ye Olde England Inne
from A TripAdvisor MemberThe staff at the Inne are always friendly, courteous and most helpful and Chris and Lyn, your hosts always stop for a chat, you never get the impression they are too busy to bother.
I think the fact that we just booked for a fifth visit says it all, if you want a comfortable relaxed atmosphere with good food then this is the place. I do not make recommendations lightly, it is a must to visit if you are thinking of holidaying in Vermont.
Cosy spot but be aware
from Swoon0On the down side, the bar staff are the weirdest I have ever met - criticising other staff in front of customers, looking like they have so much to do when they didn't at all but they still took ages to serve a drink. Just be aware of this and also make sure you pay for your rounds each time before you leave the bar, don't put drinks on your room as we were not afforded the opportunity to exam bar receipts as we checked out and feel we were overcharged.
Our room was small but very comfortable. I would recommend the Old England Inn - taking into account the above warning.
We had a wonderful honeymoon here!

Fairy Tales Do Come True!
from A TripAdvisor MemberThe owners, Lyn and Chris Francis, were the perfect couple to undertake the task of creating memories that will last throughout our lifetime. Lyn handled all requests from both of us, from arranging the minister to contact us, the photographer in place, down to the flowers we wore. Upon our arrival at the Inne the day before Thanksgiving, we were greeted with warm hospitality and the assurance that all requests had been fulfilled. Our suite with its breathtaking view of the mountains and village of Stowe below was too beautiful for words alone to describe. We felt as if we had stepped back in time to romantic Mid-evil England.
The food was absolutely delicious, no matter what was ordered and the wait staff were as friendly and courteous as the neighbor next door. Everyone took a personal interest in making sure that everything was perfect and we were happy.
The wedding was lovely, stress-free and unforgetable. Lyn made sure all details were complete, even placing the small butterfly I wore in my hair in the exact position to be seen in the photographs. Light snow began to fall the night before our wedding and then again briefly the morning of our special day. It was as magical a setting as any bride and groom could hope for. No worries from start to finish and we will live happily everafter with many more trips back to where "our fairy tale" began-Ye Olde England Inne.
We wholeheartedly endorse this perfect setting for any occasion. What lovely memories were started in this enchanted inne!

Just one more reason to visit Stowe
from A TripAdvisor MemberThe staff is cheerful and attentive, Sam the chef and his staff create amazing meals (try the game chili or anything with salmon) and don't forget to ask Brian to make you his infamous (in my book) chocolate martini.
There's lots to love about this place!
Service - food - ambience
from A TripAdvisor MemberYe Olde England Inne on Montain Road.
Everyone of our guests at our son's recent wedding rehearsal
supper was very pleased and we were most impressed with the
service - quality of food and the ambience of the Inne.
It was a pleasure to do business with the owners Chris and
Linda Francis.

Top Local Tips for Stowe
Avoid Hana and Red Basil These two restaurants are owned by the same people and it shows. Although Stowe can command premium prices for hotels and restaurants due to the kind of people attracted to this unique corner of New England, these two Asian restaurants go too far. Hana's "kid meal" is just under $20 and is mandatory (no sharing), so a 4 or 5 year old will eat $1 worth of food and pay $20!! Likewise, the Thai restaurant has $10 chicken satay appetizers and $16 rice dishes. Essentially 2x similar restaurants in New York or Boston suburbia. I had lunch with two young children and before we knew it the bill was $90, with no left overs. Although the food quality is as good as any good restaurant on flat land, these owners are demonstrating greed in their business practices. I hope Stowe gets a new Asian restaurant to bring some competition to the market.
Snowmobiling in winter If you have never try it before have a go.it is so much fun
Gracie's and Golden Eagle Stay at Golden Eagle, rent their rooms in the terrace building. Enjoy the view, the trails, the pool, coffee, fridge, and the pool. Eat at Gracie's. They have good food and ambiance and are reasonably priced.
