Top Local Tips for Killington
Psst.. wanna save money? As a heavy tourist area, the area around Killington is well stocked with good restaurants. Being a tourist area, the prices tend to be a bit on the high side. For a cheaper alternative, travel a few miles down RT 4 to the town of Rutland. There are many restaurants of all types and the prices are more in line with what most people expect to pay.
Cheap or expensive? Your Choice. Eat at the many dining establishments in nearby Rutland. The prices are much cheaper than on the Killington Access road. Gass is also cheaper in nearby Mendon and Rutland. Also pay a visit to Beauchamps' & O'Rourke's Pharmacy on Rt 4 for thier hand lotion.
Ovverrrated: The Garlic restaurant We were very displeased wih The Garlic restuarant. We sat for over 20 minutes waiting for our waiter and watching him serve other tables. They apparently had some confusion about who was waiting our table. Understandable, but they never apologized and the service continued to be poor from then on. The food was overpriced realtive to the quality. It was generally disappointing, won't be returning there. Party of 4, we all feel the same way.
