One does not expect luxury accomodations at La Quinta Inn and Suites, but the hotel was comfortable, well-situated, and satisfactory. There is a little noise from a neighboring bathroom, but that is no problem. The staff were uniformly friendly and helpful, the parking adequate, the building clean and well-maintained.

Everything is excellent -- facilities, service, staff, food, etc. Could you bring the rates down a bit? I would stay more often but my budget won't always allow it.

Top Local Tips for San Antonio

Alamo overrated We went to the Alamo and were disappointed. We would still go if we were traveling to San Antonio, but the sight lacked interpreters. Thankfully, we had read books about the Alamo, so my children knew enough to make sense of an otherwise rather boring sight. We went to one of the Missions later in the day and enjoyed it much more than the Alamo, partly due to the hands on activities and Ranger led tour. Don't miss the missions!

Schlitterbaun water park The Schlitterbaun in my opinion was not worth the money it costs to enter. Long lines and kind of dirty. It was in desperate need of painting and new outdoor carpet throughout. If you are expecting Disney or SeaWorld type cleanliness, don't go here.
