Top Local Tips for Houston

Dining tips... Brennan's (expensive) and Antone's (cheap) Brennan's was a really fun place to have dinner. Beautiful, large patio under a big tree, nicely lit and appointed dining room, excellent crab cakes! Best I ever had. Feels very old Houston circa 1967. Offshoot of the New Orleans restaurant, but apparently they have since parted ways. Very friendly hostess. On the opposite end of the price spectrum, if you want an authentic, extremely tasty po'boy sandwich, try Antone's. Great, very local fast food, very popular. The Philly Sandwich was amazing. Other sandwiches were almost as tasty. And pre-made! Really low prices. NIce, clean. With numerous locations.

Fun Experience I have recommended the Galleria shopping center in Houston to many people for years. I usually get the "Oh, sure, well after all, doesn't EVERY city have a Galleria-style mall?" My answer is "Maybe" because when I shop at the Houston Galleria, the selection is always plentiful and the experience is top-notch. There are may more shops to choose from than the average mall. Most of the shop personnel know what Southern hospitality is and I always get personalized service. Try it sometime and be pleasantly surprised.

Shuttle service to Galleria The hotel offers shuttel service to the Galleria for shopping; I did not use this service but thought it was a nice amenity to offer guests.
