The Habitat suites in Austin has 2 bedroom suites which are great for familys especially adult children. They have a great early evening cocktail and munchies hour and a wonderful breakfast buffet. It is very quiet and close to a mall and University of Texas. We have stayed 3 times and each was super.

Top Local Tips for Austin

Harry Ransom Center and Toy & Joy This is a gem of a museum. Small and on the edge of the University of Texas, this had one of the best exhibits on Beat generation writers (Kerouac, Corso, Ginsberg & company) that I've ever seen at the time I was there. Also, Guadalupe Street in general is great- if you like toys, continue north on it until you run in to Toy & Joy. Best toy store evar. Even crusty old adults could have fun here.
