Impressionable Stay at Ambassador-Amarillo

After a 14-day road vacation in Texas, this was the last stop before home. We had seen it all and were exhausted. We arrived in Amarillo very late, and the night staff was more helpful and accommodating than I could have imagined. We had stayed in some so called 4-star hotels on this trip and were disappointed. However, the Ambassador Hotel left a positive impression at all levels. Clearly a hidden jewel. This "on-the-way home" hotel turned out to be the best hotel of the entire trip. Great bed and bedding, spacious room, soothing shower head and amenities, a free top-notch breakfast with wide selections, great lobby, easy parking and helpful staff. Thanks to Ambassador Hotel for ending our trip with such an impressionable stay.

This Amarillo Hotel is affordable and works for a single Dad

I’m a Dad on my own with two kids. We live near Amarillo, and this is our third trip to the Ambassador Hotel. It is just right for us! This trip was especially nice for me because the hotel was offering a very affordable “back to school” package. What a great way to end our summer.

The kids thought the “goodie bags” with snacks & activities were cool, but really loved that the pool hours were extended. What really worked for my wallet was that our package included 2 kid’s dinners at the TGI Friday’s in the hotel, and two discount tickets to the kids’ favorite places….Wonderland Park and the Discovery center.

The staff is always friendly and the rooms have plenty of space for the three of us. Ambassador Hotel in Amarillo makes it easy and affordable for me to have great adventures with my kids. Thanks to you all.

No complaints at all about the Ambassador Hotel in Amarillo, Texas!!! We stayed with 2 small children, my wife and my elderly parents. Everyone enjoyed the comfort of the rooms, the indoor pool and the incredible breakfast buffet (which was better than most we have experienced at other "chain" hotels). Even better was the "staycation" package that we booked. It included two children's meal at the TGI Friday that is connected to the hotel.

The Ambassador Hotel also had the friendliest and most professional staff that I have ever encountered, and I travel for business every week, even though this trip was strictly for pleasure with my family. The 2 guestrooms we stayed in were immaculately clean and very well kept. Each had all of the amenities that you would expect from a hotel of this caliber. The free high speed internet was definitely a plus and not always received these days.

The value was excellent and the location is just right. We were close to area restaurants and a short drive to Palo Duro Canyon, a great discovery center, and Cadillac Ranch. Of course, my parents enjoyed visiting Historic Route 66. I would definitely recommend this hotel to everyone heading to Amarillo, Texas.

We’ve had enough of this staycation stuff, we just had to pack up and get out of town. So my husband and I decided to take our two kids to Texas in our version of the Griswald’s Family Vacation. One of our stops was at the lovely Ambassador Hotel located in Amarillo. We couldn’t have been happier with our stay. Being a little road tired we checked in and let the kids swim in their great indoor pool. We loved that the hotel had a TGI Friday’s, it was just right for this family of four. After dinner, the kids took another dip in the pool. The front desk staff took great care of us, and offered suggestions for area activities that our kiddos would enjoy. The breakfast buffet is outstanding and they have the best cooked-to-order pancakes! The rooms are very comfortable, exceptionally clean and the hotel is well maintained. The manager and all the staff obviously care about the hotel and the guests that occupy it. The Ambassador Hotel is truly southern hospitality at its finest – and in little ‘ole Amarillo. Who would have guessed!

Best Bet in Amarillo

We are a family with two children, ages 5 & 7 and have stayed at the Ambassador Hotel many times through the years.  In Amarillo, by far this is the best bet.  During our stays the rooms have always been clean and nicely decorated.  Even before they remodeled a few years back the rooms were nice.  Beds are comfortable and it’s a great place to call home while in Amarillo.
 
Our children love staying at the Ambassador, and actually look forward to stopping here on our way to New Mexico.  Swimming in the indoor pool is the highlight of their trip.  Service is excellent. Made service is reliable, and the check-in staff are very friendly.
 
The breakfast buffet is the best that we’ve ever had in a hotel.  The items are fresh and the made to order omelet’s and pancake are a huge hit.  The buffet has something for everyone!

We feel that we can always count on the Ambassador Hotel for a pleasant stay.

A seamless meeting at the Ambassador Hotel

I'm relatively new at my job and wanted to impress my new boss with a seemless meeting in Amarillo. The Ambassador Hotel made this happen. I booked over 25 rooms at the Ambassador Hotel for business colleagues going to Amarillo for sales calls. All expressed a positive experience with their stays – yeah for me!

We did a client meeting and event in one of the Ambassador's meeting rooms for about 55 people. Everything, I mean everything was perfect. The meeting room, catering, and hospitality given by the staff can't be matched by anyone. They went the extra mile, even giving my attendees the inside scoop on things to do in Amarillo. Many of the Ambassador Hotel staff have been there for years and it shows in their service. They care about their guests. I felt that my business was valued and I was able to make my boss proud!

If you are looking to do meetings or events in Amarillo, The Ambassador Hotel is the place to be to experience the 'Texas Hospitality' you have always heard about.

Amarillo's Ambassador Hotel is a definite do over for us!

We stayed at the Ambassador Hotel Amarillo while attending a class reunion. The service was great. The staff is extremely kind and helpful. Our room was good-sized with a great leather chair and ottoman. The beddings are updated, and the price was very affordable.
The Ambassador Hotel is a great place to hold a special event, with nice rooms for various types of gatherings. The service was excellent at our banquet.
The lobby of the hotel is as attractive as it appears on its Internet site. We loved the large atrium area that covers the pool. Having a Friday's Bar and Grill right in the hotel was nice. Everyone enjoyed having a place to meet throughout the weekend without having to leave the hotel. The location of the Ambassador Hotel is convenient in the center of Amarillo & easy access to I-40.
Would most definitely stay here again!

Top Local Tips for Amarillo

Palo Duro Canyon This is a must see when in Amarillo. The Canyon is breath taking.

The Big Texan restuarant The food was a little pricey but worth every dime. Our steaks were so tender and the sweet tea was great. The only negative was the young lady that seated us had the personality of a wet rag and you could tell she wished she was somewhere else. Sad since everyone else seemed to be enjoying this very themed restuarant. The three older gentlemen that come around and sing and play for you are great. I think they must know a million songs! Make it a stopping place when traveling through Amarillo, TX

Friendly citizens The citizens of Amarillo are friendly and nice. They just need hotel managers who keep their word
