I stayed at the Renaissance Nashville following a Titans game. I really enjoyed it and loved the fact that the Denver Broncos were also staying at the hotel.

Historical Traveller Reviews of Renaissance Nashville Hotel

Apparently all rooms are not equal

from powcat
I have never written a review for any hotel that we have stayed at...even though there were times when I probably should have.
So I don't come off as being negative, I just want to say that we have stayed at this hotel on two different occasions. The first time we had a large odd shaped corner room that faced downtown and it was fine. If I could have requested that same room then I think it might have been ok...The hotel, itself, is very nice...beautiful lobby etc...not a big deal to park across the street because it is cheap compared to a lot of places downtown....
But, this last time we got a room facing the street and parking garage and it was terrible.
Like some other posters said, we did loudly hear people out in the hallways and the room next door...sounded like they were actually in our room...that is not exaggeration. I could clearly hear every word they spoke.
The bed was fine..no complaints there..it was just actually the lack of privacy that I had a problem with.
So, apparently, all rooms are not equal ....

Not that impressed.

This hotel does not have it's own parking garage; they use the Library garage ($5 everytime you take your car out). There were two bottles of water in the room that I assumed were complimentary but the fine print says they will charge you $4 per bottle. The rooms were clean although they forgot to clean the room one day and forgot to leave soap one day. Everything is supposed to be within walking distance but with the steep grades averywhere you'd have to be Lance Armstrong. I was dissapointed.

Great Hotel

I was reading below some of the experiences other posters had, those, were nothing like my stay. It's a great location right in the middle of everything. Everyone there was very helpful and friendly. When I was there everyone at the Cafe' places there remembered where you were from and your names. People also stated that the walls are thin and the beds were rock hard. Disagree there too, the walls I could not hear any of the noises next door, across the hall or outside.. AND we had someone from a band right across the hall who may I add, are not the quietest people in the world, but yet we didn't hear their noise. The beds are comfortable, I slept like a baby!! In the lobby they even have a place where you can go get help from someone to figure out what you want to do that day/night in the city! This is most certainly a great hotel and I would stay there again in a heartbeat!!

Hated the Renaissance

I stayed at this hotel during the Marathon Weekend (also a marathon participant). This hotel was not at all what I expected. It is nothing more than just a Holiday Inn with 25 floors with an extremely expensive Buffet. The rooms are completely average. Even got a bonus in our room....someone elses sweatshirt and jean behind the chair and even a nice half empty mountain dew bottle! The beds are like sleeping in Fred Flintstones bed....if you like that sort of thing! Oh and the pool.....horrible....smaller than most pools at a residence. On Marathon morning the hotel did not even have complementary bagels or coffee for the runners, which made up almost all of the hotel.....they thought it would be good for their reputation to charge $4.00 for crappy coffee and a frozen bagel the morning of. I would NEVER stay at this hotel again....honestly, not even for free. On a scale of nice to dump....I give it a DUMP!

Nice but impersonal

from macsuperfly
I stayed at the renaissance for 3 nights from mar 13th. It started badly when they my reservation dates wrong and did not have a room for me for the 1st night. I then had to walk to the marriot at 10.30pm , it was not far but the man at the desk did not even write them down for me, he could not get rid of me fast enough.

The location is great the whole of downtown Nashville is no more than a 5-10 min walk. The rooms were OK but the walls are very thin, I had an amorous couple next door, and they were by no means being noisy, but there is no privacy with those walls.

The hotel is geared to conferences etc , and it is fine for business, but I would not recommend it for a vacation. The staff are very efficient but there is no personal touch as you would find in a smaller hotel.

Nice Hotel, With Some Exceptions

from ccnanny
My cousin, a friend and I stayed at the Renaissance on 3/14 and 3/15. The location is excellent. You can park your car and walk to most of the places downtown. The lobby and public areas are very nice and well kept. The personnel were, on the average, friendly. The nicest, by far, was the lady working in the pool area. We stayed on the 23rd floor in a double queen room. The room was very clean, but the beds could have been made up a little better (loose sheets, bedspread looked as if it had just been tossed on.) The sloppiness gave the impression that maybe the sheets hadn't been changed, so I checked them first thing (they had been). The walls are very thin and we were awakened at 1:00 a.m. by some younger people going back and forth between rooms, letting their doors slam (about 12 times), talking to each other like they were a block apart. This hotel could really use some work on soundproofing the rooms. On our second day, we did some walking around and arrived back at our room around 3:30. The room had not been made up although we had been out most of the day. The housekeeper finally came by around 4:30 and we just opted for some clean towels and coffee. I would stay at this hotel again if I were in town for a night or two, but I think I'd try another place if my stay were longer. I liked the cleanliness and the location, but I also like to have a quiet room to sleep in.

meant nothing

I reserved a room with two queen beds and received my reservation said that type room was "guaranteed." When we checked in, we were told that two queen beds were not available. We were given a room with a king bed. Don't "guarantee" something you can't deliver.

Also, the walls are apparently paper thin. The people in the adjoining room had folks coming and going until 4 a.m. We could hear everything they said, from her ordeal with kitchen cabinets to his deer hunting trips.

Very good property

This hotel was already nice but it has undergone a beautiful renovation to make it even better.

Service from check-in, to bell boys, to valet, to room service was perfect.

One thing: I was told I could not self park by check in. You can self park. Right in the same garage where valet parks your car. You just can't pay for it on your hotel bill. Price is $5 for self park, $17 for valet.

view?

Based on the web site photos we reserved a room when we had tickets to go to the Nashville Symphony. The photos were obviously all shot from an upper story room with incredible view. Our room was on the 5th floor with view of the back of a low rent apartment building, air conditioning/and or kitchen vent equipment and NOTHING ELSE! The equipment noise was very loud and disturbed sleep all night. We were disappointed to say the least. To view the Nashville skyline we took an elevator ride to the upper eschalons. The elevator is clear and we were able to enjoy the view from there (the elevator).

Renaissance Nashville Hotel is fabulous!

The Renaissance Nashville Hotel is absolutely incredible. Staff were all very friendly and helpful
(must say the valets were the most kind people).
The room was immaculate and so beautiful. The view from the 18th floor was awesome! Everything was so easy to find within the hotel and is so convenient to everything in town. We were there Sept. 11/12 for the Kenny Chesney concert at Gaylord Entertainment Center and the entire trip was a dream come true! Congrats to the entire
Renaissance staff for making people feel so comfortable!

Parking / Library As you approach the hotel, you see a covered bridge to a parking garage. Parking is $6.00 for 24hrs and if you have small children or anyone intereseted in reading, in the rear wall is the rear entrance to the public library. This garage is well maintained clean and well lit

Wildhorse Saloon Don't waste your time unless there is a very ,very good band playing .Food service very slow ,2nd time to eat there never enough staff and food only mediocre

parthenon visit the parthenon and park area it is beautiful and not crowded.
