Top Local Tips for Nashville
things we liked in nashville My husband had a convention (in november) in nashville so our 3 year old daughter and I tagged along. here are some of the things we did: Jack's bbq downtown nashville- great food- loved it. We meant to go back a second time, but didn't make it back. Opry mills mall and opryland hotel are must sees. The opryland hotel is most definitely worth the 16 bucks to park. Just pay it and enjoy yourself at this incredible place. go to the delta, magnolia and cascades area. Pinkerton park in franklin is a wonderful place- lots and lots of activities for all ages. highly recommended for a nice day. Just driving around brentwood and franklin is a lot of fun. Very beautiful areas. The nashville zoo was a one of the best zoos we've been to- its very new. Downtown franklin is very quaint and there are some civil war attractions around there as well. We would have gone to see the predators if we didn't have our little girl along- nice arena. Do some research- theres a lot to do.
Country music heaven! If you are a devout country music fan, the Country Music HOF and Ryman Auditorium are fantastic! The music scene and shops on Broadway are cool, but you might have to hop a bit from place to place to find a band/singer you like. Be prepared to spend some money on tickets to the museums, etc.; nothing is cheap! We parked at the Country Music HOF and walked down to Broadway and Ryman, and spent the entire day there. All safe and easy to get to. The Grand Ole Opry is great, but is tricky planning to be there on a night when there are artists you like since they don't publish the schedule very far in advance. The Grand Ole Opry area is a nice place to spend some time - shop in the Opry Mills Mall, wander around the Gaylord Opryland, and see the Opry Museum. All worth doing.
Country Music When visiting Nashville I would highly recommend a visit to the Country Music Hall of Fame (with the Studio B tour) and the Ryman Auditorium. A walk around Nashville is quite interesting, especiall along Broadway with the "Honky Tonk" atmosphere. Just watch for panhandlers on the street. We were approached several times.
