Historical Traveller Reviews of Embassy Suites Airport Hotel

This place needs a facelift!

from pjmcjm
I agree completely with the previous reviews that state that this place is mediocre (at best). It is simply not up to Embassy Suites standards and is probably the worst one we have ever stayed at. Our family stayed at this hotel on Saturday, August 13th for just one night. We had a very reasonable rate of $99 per night. The atrium was very typical for Embassy Suites, but it was in dire need of a good broom. I complained to the front desk on Sunday morning that someone needed to sweep the entire area, and one of the managers said that they were short of help (which I could easily believe). The manager's reception on Saturday night was below average. There was only a handful of stale popcorn available for snacks, and the bartender did not know how to make a margarita. Beer was available in the bar for a price, and my husband opted for that. There was a pool table and a video game room for the kids that our 11-year-old son enjoyed. Breakfast was not as good as it should have been. The omelets were greasy, and the food in general was not very good. The beds in the suites were just as described in earlier reviews...low, uncomfortable beds with drab linens. The couch was not easy to sleep on, according to our son, and the blanket in the closet for that bed had a hole in it. All in all, this was not a good Embassy Suites experience. The location is in an office park, and there are lots of pretty trees. But the rooms in the back look out on a parking lot that appears to have been turned into a semi trailer truck parking lot. We would not stay there again. There are plenty of other hotels in that airport area that we would try.

Could use some improvements

from MommaKath
My husband and 2 daughters stayed 3 nights at Embassy Suites - the beds were in terrible condition - mattresses needed to be replaced. Electrical outlets needed replaced - iron wouldn't stay in the outlet. Water faucet continuously dripped in living area. Sheets on sofa bed were dirty & I had to ask housekeeping to change them before we used it. Coffee & coffee cups weren't replaced each day unless we asked. Room wasn't cleaned one day until my husband tracked down a housekeeper about 7 pm and asked her to at least replace towels and empty trash in rooms. Had a wonderful breakfast buffet that was complimentary - pool, fitness room were okay. Lobby area very nice. Parking was taken if arriving back to hotel later in evening. Had to park in back of hotel and walk around to side entrance. Disappointing for a 3 night stay.

great breakfast

Room was clean, but did not have the luxury of other embassy's, however this location is scheduled for a face lift, and may have more appeal after completion. Staff is great, and we would definitely stay at this location again. The breakfast was the best.......

Smelly bed

from merrylucy
My family stayed here for a spring break trip. My biggest complaint would be the smell of the bed. It was an odd soured smell. The sheets didnt seem fresh and were a pale yellow color. I assume they were at one time white. The beds are full size and low to the floor. The sleeper sofa sank in the middle. Also, the room I stayed in was on the back side of the building ( I don't recommend it) the heating & air unit to the hotel is HUGE and runs constantly. On the plus side, the atrium dining area is lovely. The breakfast buffet is great!!! Free cocktails in the evening was nice also! I probably would only stay here again as a last resort.

Great Place to Stay!

from sdcamp3020
I stayed overnight in Nashville on March 24, 2005 at the Embassy Suites with my son and my two nieces. I had never stayed over in Nashville before and was a little worried about the quality of the hotel. I was impressed. The front desk staff were very courteous and helpful. Upon check-in, I was given a printout of directions to Opry Mills Mall that kept me from having to get back into the construction zones. Once we got to the room, I discovered that the bathroom sink did not work and the toilet would hardley flush. I called the front desk and it was fixed within minutes. The indoor pool area was very clean and the hot tub was large and hot, just the way it should be. The rooms were extra clean but I did not know that you have to ask for a microwave or the room would not have one. The noise from the jets landing at the airport was a little annoying, but worth it for all the wonderful service and beautiful surroundings we experienced. The breakfast bar was fully stocked with everything you could want, including fresh fruit. I will definitely return and recommend it to all my friends.

Great bargain, Great time!

My family and I live 2 hours south of Nashville, TN in the boonies.
It is our tradition to go into Nashville right after Christmas
to visit Opryland, take in city sites, eat out at some of our favorite
restaurants and shop for after Christmas bargains.
This year we stayed at the Nashville Airport Embassy Suites
Taking advantage of Embassy Suites internet Holiday special rate.
Got a great bargain and we had a great time!
Hotel was beautifully decorated for the Holidays.
Our suite very nice and clean. Staff friendly and helpful.
There were quite a few families in the hotel at this time having
holiday reunions. So it might have been a bit noisy for some people.
We like to see families having fun and enjoy children...
so not a problem for us.
Bummer for the children (especially mine)
Swimming pool was too cold to swim in. Pool heater was not working.
Breakfast buffet and afternoon cocktail reception were terrific!
Hotel is within easy driving distance of malls, Opryland, downtown,
and restaurants.
This hotel is in an very safe area with plenty of free parking.
Also pet friendly :)

Just okay for a family

from cornbread
I have stayed at this Embassy Suite several times as a business traveler without any problems and all was well. However, this past December 30th my family and I spent the night here prior to the Music City Bowl with the place being fully occupied. There were five of us so 2 of my teen children slept on the sleeper sofa. The frame of this was bent and the head of the bed ended up being at least 3 - 5 inches lower than the feet. I called for assistance with this with no help. I asked housekeeping for additional pillows, blanket or towels to help raise the mattress up. No help arrived from them either. They just stated they were full... Further, the linen they use on the other beds are difficult to keep on the mattress.

Regardless, the rooms are a nice size, it is quiet and the breakfast buffet is very good. Rates are nice also. Adequate parking and friendly staff for the most part.

Best in Nashville

I stay in Nashville frequently. This has got to be the best hotel in town. It is quiet, comfortable, great service, wonderful complimentary breakfast, shuttle to the airport, great jacuzzi, beautiful decor, a wonderful place to stay.

The room was great! The people were great! Complimentary breakfast bar great! They also make omelets by request. I don't have one complaint!

Great Meeting at the Embassy

from A TripAdvisor Member
Our company conducted a two day Sales meeting at this facility. They did an OUTSTANDING job accommodating our every need! Banquets were superb and the atrium set up for one of our luncheons was gorgeous. I HIGHLY recommend this property for meetings.

Top Local Tips for Nashville

good bbq We wanted to eat at Jack's on Broadway, but it was closed on Sunday, so we ate across the street (also on Broadway) at a bbq place on the corner (across from the GEC & Legends) and the pork sandwich was the best I've eaten, great sides of beans & slaw too.

good place to eat ate at demo"s downtown--super service and great food at a good fair price

Restaurants recommended near Embassy suites Airport location Plantation House Restaurant is excellent for steak seafood and pasta. We celebrated a birthday and received a free creme broulee after asking. Also for delivery to the embassy suite hotel Sal's Pizza was the best hands down for Calzones, Pizza and Manicotti.
