Fleas and urine smell
from travelagent20yearsAs soon as we walked into our hotel room I knew there was something very wrong with this hotel. The smell was awful. So I called the front desk and told them I would like a change of rooms because I think the room smells of animal urine---bold statement but true.
I couldnt understand why it would smell like this.
THEN our son had all these tiny bites on his legs and thighs, here it was flea bites.
WE had no idea but low and behold here comes a woman walking her DOG into the hotel...this is a pet friendly hotel. And now I understand why our room smelled like ANIMAL URINE.
I would have thought more of the hotel IF they would have said, we are sorry about this our hotel is pet friendly. The older man at the front desk was lazy and rude.
We got a full refund----I am not a hotel snob at all but I will not stay at this place ever again...fleas and urine are not OK with me
By the way we love pets,,,we have 2 of them ourselves. !!!!!

Wonderful place to stay. We loved the Drury Inn
from Ms_IndependenceMy husband and I both noticed that the hotel was always well maintained and clean. It was fairly quiet even though there was a group of teenagers there on the Saturday night.
The breakfast was good and fresh. They had scrambled eggs, sausage patties, biscuits and white gravy, various pastries and bagels and muffins, and cereal. They also had yogurt and fresh fruit. The evening beverages and snacks was good too. They had chips and dip and popcorn along with the usual beverage selections.
The pool was clean and the indoor/outdoor option was nice.
Every staff member we spoke to there was very nice and helpful. There was a computer with internet access and a printer in the lobby.
We found the location convenient for access to the highways heading to and from all of the places we visited. Currently there is some road construction to maneuver, but it was well marked. And we felt very safe in this area of town.
There is a k-mart very close by which we went into one night to pick up a few items. Overall, we loved this hotel.
A bit disappointed in the Drury Inn and Suite
from A TripAdvisor MemberWonderful stay at Drury Inn!
from A TripAdvisor MemberNice, clean, friendly staff.
from ilove2travelUsaGreat Stay!
from A TripAdvisor MemberVery pleasant experience; very good value for money
from stevodevoThe receptionist and hotel personnel were very friendly and helpful. The room was cozy (not huge but no complaints) and CLEAN. The microwave and fridge both came in handy. The pool, hot tub, and exercise room all were used and enjoyed by both of us. Of course it is near the airport so it is a high traffic hotel which accounted for some general room noise, etc. But that was to be expected.
We stayed for 2 nights and enjoyed the Quikstart breakfast both mornings. Definitely an improvement over coffee and donuts! It was also very nice to be able to get softdrinks and snacks from the dining area after running around Nashville all day.
Overall an enjoyable stay - the hotel was not too fancy but for the price and convenience I would definitely stay there again!
Weekend at Drury Inn
from JenniferLVThe room was clean and the beds were very comfortable. The bathroom was noticeably cleaner than other hotels with the same star ratings. Clean white tile, floor and bathtub/shower. The refrigerator and microwave in the room were great. The hour of free long distance per day was a great feature. Had the hot breakfast only one day but it was plentiful! A large variety, much better than the ordinary "continental breakfast".
We also enjoyed the popcorn and sodas in the afternoon. The Drury is in a great location with restaurants across the street in walking distance. Would definately stay there again.
Great place to park and stay for airport users!
from kimmmahWe stayed here for one night prior to a 7 a.m Monday flight and were very pleased with the ease of check in and the service from start to finish. The rooms are a bit dated, but they are clean and quiet and spacious. We were able to get extra pillows and towels from the desk with no hassle. There is a laundry on site, so we could wash and dry kids' clothes after a swim and not take wet things with us on the plane. The pool is an indoor/oudoor mix, which they loved.
The drive to the airport is five minutes or less--you cannot beat the location--and there wasn't a long line for the shuttle like we've had at some hotels in the area. The price for the rooms is also much better than others in the area (do a little research and you'll see what I mean) and for one night, it was certainly suitable even if it wasn't the most posh I've stayed in. We were even able to get some things from the breakfast area although it wasn't techincally open until 6 a.m., which was nice.
Upon arrival, we were picked up fairly quickly and taken back to our car with no problems. Cars are kept in a gated/secured area and we were quickly on our way home.
We will use the Drury for our pre-flight stays from now on. It's the best value in Nashville.
An Older Drury, but still great!
from leepoffaithThe only two things I didn't care for was the decor in the room and the sound from other rooms. You can tell the hotel is a bit older because the furniture in the rooms is older looking. It is still very well taken care of, but just older. Also, we had a problem with being able to hear the room next to us through the pass through door inbetween the rooms. From now on I would just ask for a room without a pass through door.
I would definatly stay at another Drury because they are great hotels.
Top Local Tips for Nashville
Hillsboro Village for restaurants/Robert's Western World for music Hillsboro Village had the best restuarants. Two of them we visited were Opie's pizza and the South Street Restuarant, and I highly recommend them. Robert's Western World on lower Broadway, near Tootsie's Orchid Lounge had a great group called the Ron Kelly Band. You have to see the 22 year old guitar player to believe it, stay until the last song of the set, a song called "Ghost Rider" and you'll see what I am talking about. Unbelievable!!
Food for less Try Demos down town for great food for a small price.
Downtown public parking is limited, so take taxis or park offstreet and walk. If you are going to be going downtown to special events such as Performing Arts and extra, parking will be a problem. Best take a taxi. While there are parking garages these are mostly for workers and etc. As the streets downtown are old, mostly are 2 lane or 3 lane one way so you may have to circle.Hower, if it is a Saturday is parking aroung the Old Capital Building as there are no Saturday Sessions. However, Nashiville is up and down hills which you will soon find out if you have to walk around downtown, so health impaired and or older travelers need may find it hard to walk very far.
