What a cute little Hotel - Loved it

from A TripAdvisor Member
Don't normally stay at Day's Inn but when I read the reviews of this hotel I decided to give it a try. Just loved it. One of the cleanest hotels I have ever stayed in. Marble shower surround and marble bath countertop. There is a safe in the room so I could store my jewelry and laptop. There is a darling guitar shaped pool in the courtyard. Beds and pillows were very comfortable. Wi Fi in lobby. Waffles, cereals, fruit, juice for breakfast. Less than a block from Graceland and close to airport.

s best!

We have stayed there every August for 16 years and it is as comfortable as being at home. The rooms are decorated beautiful with many homey touches. Everything you need is there. The staff are warm and friendly, going out of their way to make your stay comfortable. The owners are on site and greet every visitor with warmth. The Continental breakfast is awesome with the best coffee you'll ever have. The rooms and grounds are clean, the pool is wonderful. You can see Graceland from the pool and second floor, a true plus for any Elvis Fan. The only negative is when it's time to leave as you don't want to because it is so great!
St. Louis loves Days Inn @ Graceland and all the staff.

Nice for the price and location

from bobbi222
Really, I was satisfied with this place. Our room had a king-size bed, and it was a little crowded with all the furniture they had in there. But, the furniture and decor was in good taste (I'm thinking they have been remodeling recently...they weren't finished painting some drywall in the bathroom). There was a nice mini-frig and microwave. We enjoyed swimming in the guitar-shaped pool. The complimentary breakfast wasn't anything exciting, but it was better than donuts and coffee. The manager was very nice. But, the best part was being near Graceland and getting in the "Elvis" mood the night before our tour. The hotel has two "Elvis" channels, one which plays commercial-free movies continuously...watching King Creole the night before was awesome! It was also quite safe to walk a few yards down the street and view Graceland lit up at night time. The hotel is right across the street from the shopping/museums/ticket center for Graceland. There isn't any reason to stay here if you aren't visiting Graceland, but I would definitely recommend it to my friends. If you are visiting other spots in Memphis, I would move on to another location after you get your Elvis fix.

Loved the Days Inn Graceland

We have just spent a week at the Days Inn Graceland. The staff are wonderful and can't do enough to help. This hotel is very reasonable priced and we got great value for money. Right across the road from Graceland, this hotel is perfectly situated for Elvis fans. They have 24 hour Elvis tv in every room, so you could spend the whole day and night watching if you wanted to. There is a guitar shaped swimming pool and plenty of sun loungers for guests to use. One slight drawback here is that the pool is not attended. Close by are all the gift shops you could wish for, and plenty of restaurants, which are all reasonable priced. Days Inn only offers breakfast in their package but you can eat as much as you want. Its a serve yourself breakfast buffet and you can go back as many times as you want for more. One nearby restaurant offers a free delivery service to this hotel too and deliver your food right to your room.
Days Inn Graceland is also well situated if you want to go into Memphis to visit the other attractions. A free shuttle runs to Sun studio and Beale Street from the Graceland Plaza just a short walk from the hotel.
All in all this hotel is well worth a visit. We will be staying there again on our next visit.

Great location!

The hotel's big plus point is its location - right across the road from Graceland. It looks a bit shabby and our room was definitely in need of refurbishment but the staff were very nice. It's also quite a bit cheaper than Heartbreak Hotel next door.
Plenty of eating places within walking distance and breakfast was excellent - fine for one or two nights.

Forget about whatt other people say....the room was perfect , breakfast was super good....the staff was very nice and the hotel is whithin walking distance from graceland ( believe you don't need a car to get there)...... the tours for the city will pick you up without a problem cause the hotel is in a perfect location......

thank you very much and will see you soon

Good for those on a budget

We stayed here for a night in January during a Graceland visit and the room was fine. Nothing special, but the bedding was clean and staff friendly. Guitar-shaped pool was a nice touch, though I couldn't swim in it because it was Winter. Cereal and such for breakfast, Elvis movies 24-7, and down the street from Graceland. A good deal if you're on a budget. Careful: the area around this hotel did not seem to be too safe at night.

We have been in this lovely and clean hotel in oct 2004! And we are going back when we are going to Memphis again! The staff is very nice and the rooms and the bathroom were very clean (nr 118). And on the other side of the road is Graceland and that makes is very special!!!

This is a sad place...

What other posters have said, each one is true. The staff is wonderful, very kind, considerate, my hats off to them. However, this poor hotel needs major renovation. The cost wasn't bad, and the location they say is everything, and definitely that is a plus. Playing Elvis movies 24-7 is a good idea, however, this hotel needs some MAJOR cleaning. Mildew in the bathtub. It's a shame, this could be a really great place with a little TLC.

Very Surprised

It doesn't look very nice from the outside, but it's actually very clean and affordable. The free breakfast needs to be improved and the walls are a bit thin, but the location couldn't be better.

Top Local Tips for Memphis

National Civil Rights Museum This is a must-see! The museum is outstanding in terms of the civil rights history timeline and is actually in the hotel where Martin Luther King, Jr. was assassinated. The second portion of the tour takes you into the building across the street where the fatal bullet was fired. There is a great deal of controversy and speculation around this shooting, which makes for interesting reading and pondering.

The Ultimate Memphis Experience Beale Street, Sun Studios, Graceland, The Memphis Rock & Soul Museam, Riverfront Attractions & the Peabody Hotel are must see locations in this great friendly city.

Marlowes The food was excellent and so was the wait staff. Prices were reasonable and make sure you ask the staff at the hotel/motel front desk to order you the pink limo. Marlows will send a pink limo to pick you up and return you to your hotel/motel free of charge. But bring some singles to tip the drivers.
