Stayed in this motel on a Thursday night. Had good experience. Rooms clean, service fine. Lost my medical bag. Called back next day and great effort was given to find it. It was in my car and I appreciated their help. I will stay again when I am in the area. Many restaurants around to choose from.
Clean But Old And Worn

My wife and I have stayed at this location on several occasions while visiting my Father in TN. The rooms are always very clean and spacious. However, those we've stayed in seem very much in need of remodeling. There were very apparent patched holes in the walls, as well as, some toilets that seemed to rock and shower heads and knobs that took a little time to 'conjole' into working correctly.
The counter staff also seems to be lacking, in what I would consider, basic knowledge of your company's online registration procedures. Please don't get me wrong, they have always been very friendly and helpful. However, I register online exclusively and have had to explain this almost every time I visit. It usually takes a little time, sometimes more than a little, for them to find my registration, even though I always print out my 'confirmation page' and give this hardcopy to them when I arrive! Maybe, I've simply had the bad luck of encountering a new counter employee each time, but considering we've stayed there approximately 6-7 times, I doubt that.
To sum up, I do enjoy the economy of Econo Lodge in Athens, being such a small town. However, I've recently been using the Hampton Inn on the same I-75 interstate exit. While 'pricier' than your motel, It offers notably better service and security, i.e. interior doors.
