You might want to spend a little extra Having stayed at a "value resort" I can testify that it is worth spending a little bit more per night. My room included a kitchen and living area however the quality was so low that it was not worth the savings. While it is frustrating to stay at hotels where the prices have been jacked up it is even more frustrating to stay where the elevators dotn' work, the closest eateries and shops are 3 miles away and the rooms are filthy. For about $30-$50 more per day we could have had double the quality. Don't make the same mistake.
