We just came back from Myrtle Beach SC. and we stayed for 6 days at the Sea Dip.
It is an older hotel so things are not all up to date,NOT YOUR 5 * FOR SURE..... but we had the deluxe apartment and it suited our purpose. It was spacious and nice and clean.
The things that upset me were....#1. I thought we were going to have a oceanview but we did have a balcony with lots of chairs.
#2 The pool was to cold to swim in so we ended up not spending much time there which I was disappointed about.
#3The hot tub was too hot to even try to get in.
The staff were friendly and nice.
If you are looking for a good price and not fussy about it being rather old and run down, then try this hotel.
Not much access to shopping unless you have a car.
No bus service
All in all it was not bad.

My wife and I stayed at the Sea Dip in June, 2008. The room was clean, with plenty of clean towels in the bath. The Sea Dip is centrally located in Myrtle Beach and is close to just about everything on the Grand Strand. The price was very affordable. The staff was very friendly and our room was cleaned daily. The only downside is the parking. There is very limited parking at the motel, with a large lot across the street that is shared by other motels, as well. Overall, the Sea Dip is a nice motel with clean, comfortable rooms.

Fun arcades for the whole family There are two arcades in downtown Myrtle Beach, near the old Pavilion area and right across from the Ripley's attractions. They are full of great games for the whole family, and I highly recommend them. We had more fun at the arcade on the left than we had the whole time we were at Myrtle Beach! I used only $9 to buy tokens, and used them playing multiple games of skee ball (at least 7 for 1 token each), a very old shooting game, a pick the number game, 3 pick the color games similar to roulette, 1 amazing game of Rocky and Bullwinkle pinball, 3 air hockey games on the fastest air hockey table in the world (the table on the left if you are facing the ocean), and a really good wheel spin game that was only 1 token each time & we won the JACKPOT (200 tickets). We traded in our 300 tickets on little zombie protection dolls (one for each of us three), a toy horn, and a magnifying glass. It was really fun, even if we didn't win any prizes! Highly recommended for cheap fun!

what a dump when i first walked into the room, i wanted to throw up, the smell was so bad. it was musty and gross smelling. the place has not seen a good cleaning in some time. i had to go out and purchase cleaning products so i could clean the room. when i put my hand on the table it stuck to it. the chairs, tables, floors, beds all of it was dirty. the only thing the maid did, is pick up the towels and make the bed. my advise don't stay there. the view to the ocean was the only thing good about the place. i had to even leave the balcony doors open 24-7.

Captain Bennett's Calabash seafood This restaurant is outrageously high. Especially with young children. They charge $6.00 extra if they eat crab legs. What a joke when they might eat one and see they don't like them. Our party of 8 was $178.00 with a discount.
