Avoid the official tourist centers For those who have nort been to Myrtle Beach, know that there are like 100 visitor centers trying to get you to do a time-share program....they are very smooth

stay away from here The staff is rude and we were robbed! We arrived at 4:00pm, an hour after check-in, it took 15 mins to get the key and when we got to the room we had to wait because it was being cleaned. I had called hotels.com to make the reservations with a refrigerator and microwave, but they were not in the room I received. The hotel clerk said I had to call hotels.com to have it taken care of. I called and they said it would be an additional $76. Our keys had been deactivated twice, so we had to go down and get new keys. The second day, I called at 10:00am to see when the room would be cleaned; she said there was not a specific time. The beds were lumpy and not comfortable. When we got back from the beach at 4:00pm the room still had not been cleaned and we did not have any clean towels to take a shower and wash off the sand. I called again and was told someone would clean my room next. A few minutes later the maid called and said she was on the other side of the building and wasn't going to drop what she was doing to come all the way over there just to clean my room because I was harassing the front desk (I do not think two calls, six hours apart qualifies as harassment and I did not ask for my room to be cleaned next, so she should take that up with her supervisor) I just wanted to know when we could get some clean towels. The day of check-out someone busted the window in our car and stole some items. The hotel did not have cameras in the parking lot and had signs that stated they were not responsible for damage, so this must be a regular occurrence. The police officer that took the report was a lot more sincere and sympathetic than the hotel employees. Needless to say we will never stay here again!
