Dirty place to stay

We stayed here for 2 nights and it was disgusting, we could'nt use the pool because it was broken, walking around with out shoes on your bare feet would turn black from the dirt. The only thing good is that they allow animals (why do you think it was so dirty). I would never stay here again!

We had reservations for the Ocean Plaza, an affiliate hotel. They called and told us there was a problem and I could not get two consecutive nights there but said there was room available in another hotel owned by them. It was the Polynesian. This resort turned out to be dirty, moldy, had unsupervised children running the halls and passageways all night. A night staff that didn't care. The mattresses have no covers and the springs were in terrible shape. They looked to be about 30 years old. The mold in the shower was inexcusable. Parking was not available on site, forcing you to park behind other run-down buildings. I've never seen a hotel with signs warning you not to use the stairs. The hotel is run-down and with everything else in the area converting to condominiums the owners are just collecting the money and not keeping up the facility. I've worked for the government for over 22 years and traveled to several third world areas, this hotel rates right in there with the same quality you'd expect there.

Not the cleanest place in the world. However, the rates and what it did look like was Decent enough to sleep in and live for 5 days. Overall it was a nice place.

Top Local Tips for Myrtle Beach

Filling Station Everyone must try the Filling Station! They have the best pizza around! Don't leave without trying the Chocolate Chip Pizza! It is excellent! :)

D i c k's Last Resort Definitely go here! The restaurant is located in Barefoot Landing and it was such a great time. At the restaurant the waiters purposely act like "dicks" and you can joke around with them. Every person gets a paper hat that reads something obnoxious or obscene such as "I love anal" or "Smile Boys I Swallow". Not a place to take a family but defintely a great night out for friends. Food is good but nothing great.

its all here it is all in walking distance,, grocery, restaurants, shopping, the Ocean. However kings hwy is a night mare around 5pm, so most restaurants have specials from 4-6. It is the heart of the city, and it never sleeps.. Go to Huntingont beach park, magnificent,, shells, no building, motels, it is like being on a undiscovered beach, it is magnificent!! It cost $5 to get in, take cooler and all your food needs, they have no vendors, and the bathroom is far fromt he beach,, but this is something you really need to see,, it is worth it,,,, The lagoon putt putt range is cool, half inside, half out, and it was very fun, we go every year. Eat at California pizza, awsome,, Just remember taxes are 11%.. Get up by 530 am to see the sun rise, spectacular.... wear sunscreen, you will burn,, Lots to do,, shows, shopping, amusement parks, etc, they have it all,, Enjoy
