My wife and I stayed for 5 nights and we had a very good experience. It was clean, great view, close to most things, and great price. It was somewhat outdated and the bathroom was small and some issues with the water pressure in the shower, but it was a good experience. We are going back in 2009.

I have been comming to the beach since I was a kid. We always stayed at Catoa Villa. It has been torn down so I ask what would be a good locat owned placed to say and they referred me to the Diplomat. I loved this place. Very convieniant to everything. Pool great for kids because of the depth. Motel was clean and staff was great. Will be back next year.

It was a very clean hotel. Good location. Will stay there again.

This was the first time that I have ever stayed at the Diplomat, I found it to be very clean. The location was great, walking distance to the Gay Dolpin and Other attractions. The only thing I see is that it needs a little up dating on some things.Price was reasonable. I will stay again.

I have been staying at this motel since I was a kid. I love the staff and everything about it. The rooms are great and pool is very clean. The view is awesome. I absolutely love the location too. My parents wanted to stay somewhere different this year so we stayed at Captain's Quarters. I HATED that motel, staff was very mean. Pools were very nasty they had sand in the pools. Higher prices than the Diplomat also. My parents and me and my husband stayed in the same room, and they gave us one parking pass for the parking garage (me and my husband had to park across the street in a little sand box) it was offal we had to walk across the street it was 4 lanes of traffic everybody was going fast, no crosswalk. STAY AT THE DIPLOMAT & FORGET ABOUT THE BIG CONDOS AND MOTELS BELIEVE ME!!

When my family and I arrived at the motel the desk clerks, were so very helpful with all the places we needed to take the kids. The rooms were tropical and clean. The great thing was if you needed anything, they would do their best to get it done for you. This was a great worry free vacation thanks to the Diplomat staff.

The motel is dirty. The toilet backed up and twice and overflowed once while there. Had to listen to old creaky elevator all night. Room full of bugs. No popsicles by the pool.

After staying at this motel for years we now go elsewhere. The owner of the Diplomat was extremely rude to us on our last stay. My 22 year old son was outside smoking when the owner approached him and asked who he was. When he told her that he was a guest she brought him to our room and made me his mother identify him, it was nuts! People sit around the pool all day long and drink and smoke and nothing is said to any of them, why my son was targeted I am not sure; however, he is a nice guy who does not drink and is not disrespectful in anyway. Also, the Indian clerk that runs the front desk tried to charge us for 2 small girls staying with us. We had no small girls with us! After almost 20 years of staying at the Diplomat we have moved to a nicer, friendlier condo further down the beach. In a way the owner did us a favor by being rude. We found a much better place to stay at a cheaper price.

I loved this place and the location. It is a very nice place to stay.

Grossly overpriced for old and outdated motel. Oceanfront view obstructed by tall weeds. At 10am, room service was out of clean towels but promised to bring them later......at 6pm we went to get them ourselves. Nothing sanitary about the in room coffee which is an OPENED filter pack placed in a dusty tray on the counter. Wonder how many places and hands it is exposed to before ending up in the coffee maker. We didn't like the place and WON'T stay there again.
