I read the reviews and I have to say I was a little skeptical, I called and spoke to Nicole about them and she assured me that I had nothing to fear and that if we had any problems that they would be promptly addressed... we arrived and were definately pleased, the rooms were clean and the service was impecable...yes, it is an older motel but it gives you the feel for the way the beach use to be, we will definately be back and we will stay at Bar Harbor...

WORST DUMP EVER

I have pictures of the bathroom door lock on the outside of the bathroom. Thats how my teenage son got trapped in the bathroom for an hour while the rest of us were shopping.If there was a fire he would have been traped in there with no way out.The place is a dump,with bad service ( desk clerk that has the personality of a snake, musty smelling, water damaged ceilings ( I have picture of the ceiling too) But the slum lords that own this (The Hoffman Group) also own a very exspensive hotel next door called the Ocean One.My photos are on my home computer.Beware of these Myrtle Beach death traps!

The carpet was crusty, the walls were patched, the windows leaked, there was gum on the headboard, you could put your whole hand under the door and the maid service was deplorable. We had no sheet change in seven nights,vacuuming twice and no bathrooms cleaned. The pool deck was slimy and so was the pool! The elevator had not been inspected in over a year. Save your hard earned money and don't stay here.

We stay here for bike week and for the room and location we think it is a very good deal.

Top Local Tips for Myrtle Beach

March! We went in March and it was horrible. Nothing was open and there were hardly any people there. If you are going just to get away and don't want to go to the amusement park, water parks or do parasailing then it would be great. But we were counting on this stuff to be open and it wasn't. It was my college spring break and I went with my boyfriend and his parents. We thought other college students may be there, but no luck. It was dead and no fun! We ended up playing putt-putt golf like three times to entertain ourselves, because it was the only thing open. Another thing is that the things that are open, close early at like 9:00 at night, so there isn't anything to do after that!

Great Place We have found two places to dine that have been consistently great every time. For seafood we enjoy Crab Catchers located in Cherry Grove. It is worth the drive. For Italian Kings Pizza in North Myrtle is awesome. My entire family, children included, agree they have the best pizza and salads we have found. The service is fast and friendly. We would encourage trying them both.

Keep doors locked at all times Our friends were robbed at their condo down the street from us. They had left the balcony door open a little, and were robbed of credit cards, cash and jewelry in the middle of the night.
