Top Local Tips for Greenville

Downtown... Greenville has a fabulous downtown!. It is a wonderful place to stroll and to explore the shops. DEFINITELy do not miss Falls Park, downtown. I have only seen it in spring, and a COLD spring at that, but the pansies, tulips, and other flowers were fantastic. Also, drive around town in the residential areas and marvel at the beautiful displays of azaleas and dogwood in bloom. A NORMAL spring is absolutely gorgeous and comfortable.This year's COLD spring was merely gorgeous! Greenville has a number of public parks which beg for exploration, also.The only DIFFICULTY with Greenville is its WACKY streets! Streets change their names and directions at whim, it seems! Another MUST see is the campus of Bob Jones University and the Art Museum with its great collection of religious art.

Main Street Don't miss Main Street and the West End. It seems there are free concerts somewhere just about every night. Easy walking distances with some interesting architecture ( and some UGLY ones as well). I wish I had more time to spend in the West End/Falls Park area.

Downtown is the place to be If you are visiting Greenville, make sure to make a trip to the Reedy River Falls Park. If you are looking for a nice romantic spot for a evening walk, this is the place. There is plenty of lighting all over the park, so you can feel safe walking around at night. The bridge that spans over the river is beautiful. During the day it is a fun place to go. During the summer a local acting troupe performs Shakespeare on a small stage. There are also many good restaurants located right downtown. Blue Ridge Brewery is a great place to go to for great beer and a variety of food including pizzas, burgers, steaks, and fish. Trio is also a great restaurant to go to for Italian type entrees or brick oven fired pizza. For a more pricey dinner try Restaurant O or Sobys, both located near the Westin Poinsett Hotel.
