Top Local Tips for Greenville

Greenville Drives: Class A Baseball If you love baseball, plan on going to a local game. The stadium is minutes away from the hotel and cheap seats are available ($5) Caution- when ordering tickets, ask if there are any seats available. My family ordered tickets and were given L&G seats automatically. Lawn and Green means you sit down on the grass overlooking the outfield. Appearently, all the seats were sold out and we were not told that up front. However, after the game starts, anyone can claim an empty seat.

Staxx Peppermill, Skins Hot Dogs, Dukes sandwiches Staxx Peppermill has the best fried lobster in the world! Have a Skins hot dog---you'll never get over it.Duke's has the best egg salad, piminto cheese sandwich, pick up a dozen for a snack or picnic--- Those are our favorites!!!!

Watch out for "Golf" Resorts poising as family hotels There are a couple of golf hotels there that can't book there rooms on golf and conference business alone. They try to create appearance of family friendly, but there really singles, travelling business men friendly not family friendly. One of these is the Greenville Embassy Suites Golf Resort and Conference Center. They have nothing for kids under 14. There is not even one childrens television station on their internal cable system and a ton of R rated and X rated movies accessible via remote with no security passwords or other ways to block. Rooms are great for singles but too smalll for anyone else. Rooms were remodelled from larger single rooms into these suites so that there is a tiny bath, a smalll bedroom about 4 inches between wall and bedfurniture, about an 18 to 20 inch wide closet, and a funky not quite a living room, not quite a den/office area, not quite a wet bar. Pretty much only useful for singles. Great table for setting up personal bar in main room of suite.
