I have stayed at some fabulous hotels around the world and this one was as beautiful as any. I could not have been more impressed by the service or the luxury...and the room was breath taking! Had I not seen other guests, I would have thought I was the only person in the hotel as the staff was extraordinarily attentive and no detail was overlooked. I left Charleston convinced that there is no where else to stay in this city BUT the Market Pavilion and the caliber of this hotel continues to rank with the best of the best. Food, service, room, location...all superb.

Top Local Tips for Charleston

SNOB We ate at SNOB twice and it was excellent both times. Also, High Cotton gets high marks for service and innovative low-country cuisine. Tristan had the best seafood preparation. Skip the "225" at the Market Pavilion Hotel---overrated and overpriced.

Try the Pedicabs The guys and some gals are great! working those pedals. I went everywhere and even got the owner on one trip. You arrive in style and have a great conversation with interesting people

transportation from airport For a group, it pays to take a taxi into town from the airport. We were told it was cheaper to take a shuttle, but a taxi ($35) would have been less as well as more convenient(shuttle is $12/pp.) Don't listen to the shuttle driver!
