Stayed at the Harborview Inn in Charleston. The room was fantastic with a great view of the fountain and harbour. Nice jogging path right there by the water. Warm complimentary cookies each day in the lobby was a nice touch. Convenient to the flee market area. I would definitely stay there again if in the area!

Quiet and comfortable rooms with friendly atmosphere. B&B feel with modern conveniences. Good views of the harbour in walking distance of many quaint shops and restaurants.

Second Class citizen due to booking online

This was our third stay at the Harborview. However, because we had booked the stay and paid for it through an online service, we did not receive good service from the hotel. Our room was not made up one day. We did not receive turn-down service. When we requested that we receive maid and turn-down service, the front desk personnel were not gracious in their replies and we still did not get it. When we checked out early, stating that we understood we would be charged for the night anyway, the hotel threatened to charge for an additional night as a penalty. So I said "okay, I'm still here. It is likely I will forget to turn in my key in the morning and you will be able to find it in the room 'after we have gone'. In the meantime, you will be unable to make-up the room to rent to someone else." The desk clerk stood firm that because I booked online and had already paid in full, if I checked out early, I would be charged an additional night as a penalty.
