Parking at downtown hotels Many of the downtown hotels (including the French Quarter Inn) have valet parking. Leave your car with them and walk! Charleston is an eminently walkable city -- walk and admire the beautiful homes and storefronts of the downtown area in America's most charming city.

Pllaces to eat and attractions Tristan Restaurant by the French Quarter Inn only charges $15 M-f for a three course lunch meal. Their she-crab soup, braised lamb ribs in chocolate barbecue sauce, maple and bread pudding with coffee ice cream are out of this world...Great service as well with a fancy restroom. Another great restaurant includes Muse where I had a pompinou dish with tomatoe sauce, orzo and turnips was outstanding.Muse has 100 wines to choose from . I also enjoyed the Hominy Grill and Poogans Porch. On the first Friday of the month, there are art gallery open houses which include wine and cheese..This was alot of fun. as faor attractions, Tommy Dew's walking is outstanding. Other worhty events include John Thompson's CivilWar walking tour and the Temple Elohims guided tour.

Giovanni's, Tommy Condon's GIOVANNI'S RESTAURANT: Overrated and overpriced. I lived in Italy for 4 years and was extremely disappointed. The grouper (their specialty) was just OK, my boyfriend's meal could have come from Olive Garden. TOMMY CONDON's: Great Fish & Chips, Great Guiness, Great Rueben
