From the moment we walked into the lobby, I knew this hotel stay would be different from previous stays in Charleston! The lobby is beautiful, as is the Atrum and our suite. The staff were the nicest people we've met in Charleston. If your looing for a great place to stay with a nice enviroment, this place is a must!

Top Local Tips for Charleston

Fleets Landing This was the best restaurant we attended as far a price/value/locations/view. We had a great meal and enjoyed a beautiful view of the water- complete with dolphins.

Yorktown and Patriots Point I highly recommend the USS Yorktown aircraft carrier and other naval vessels available for self-guided tours at Patriot Point just across the magnificent Ravenal bridge from downtown Charleston. My ten year old son and I spent hours exploring this magnificent naval vessel which few ever get to see up close let alone tour at their own whim and pace. My son characterized it as one of the neatest things he had ever done -- and the covers a lot of very special experiences in his young life. The price is reasonable and you can spend a few hours or a whole day. We were there for almost 3 hours and never even got on to the other vessels available ( submarine, battleship, etc).

Better Buy for your money If you are wanting a hotel that allows you to walk to many of the historic attractions.. the Market, the Battery, etc. you will have to stay closer to the Market itself. This hotel was too far to walk to those areas (yes we did walk, but our legs were aching by the time we got back). Since you still have to drive or take a Taxi to most of the places downtown, I would reccommend staying in Patriots Point. The hotels are less expensive. You don't get the type of breakfast you get at the Embassy Suites, but with the money you save you could easily have breakfast/brunch at Magnolia (which I highly enjoyed). Plus the rooms were just as comfortable there!!
