Beautiful City Go in early spring. The azaleas are in bloom and the weather is perfect. This area gets bloody hot after April!!!

Alternative Hotel Options and Attractions Try staying in Savannah if you go to the Gullah Festival next year. It is only 30 minutes drive from Beaufort, and there are beautiful Inns and hotels there at much lower rates than Sleep Inn, Beaufort, or other limited accommodations in Beaufort. I went on to an Inn in Savannah and that was a breath of fresh air after the hellhole at Sleep Inn. It was a much lower rate also for a much better space! and a very quiet relaxing place in Savannah southern suburbs where the staff was friendly and comfortable. Lots to see and do in Savannah also. Nothing in Beaufort except the Gullah festival at that time.

Hunting Island State Park Be sure to visit the lighthouse. Very good view from the top. We first went up in it in 1958 and still as beautiful as ever.
