Fun in Newport We had a great time, we have a 15 year old and an 8 year old and they both enjoyed the mansions. We did the behind the scenes tour at the Elms and they just thought that was great. We toured Fort Adams and found that as equally fun. We also visited First Beach, Second Beach and Gooseberry Beach. Second Beach was our favorite...First beach had "red tide" so we avoided it. Gooseberry beach is GREAT for sun bathing. You have to walk on and thru sea weed to get to swimmable water and there are no waves there. It is also the most expensive beach of the three. You have to pay to park everywere you drive in Newport. We ate dinner at Sala's and it wasn't that great, it was also extremely loud. We also ate at the Red Parrot and LOVED IT! We had pizza at Via Via and the kids requested it 2 more times. We also had pizza on E. Thames Street that was fire grilled and the kids LOVED that even more! We explored on Ocean Drive and enjoyed the views.
