Great amenities for the price!

My husband and I were expecting to get the basics when we booked our 2 night hotel stay at Sheraton Suites through Hotwire for only $70 per night. We were surprised to walk into a small den area contemporarily furnished with a convertible sofa bed, armchair, coffee table, work desk and television (the bedroom had its own television also). Down the hall leading to the bedroom was a kitchenette complete with sink, under-counter refrigerator/freezer, microwave, coffee maker and even a wall cabinet that served as a small pantry. The bedroom had large storefront windows with a nice view of the city outskirts, and the down comforter and pillows of the king size bed were great for crashing. The bathroom was nicely sized with a large vanity and a roomy, handicap accessible tub/shower. Unfortunately, the front desk staff wasn't as pleasant as the room. When my husband called to inform the hotel that we would be arriving late, the hotel employee on the other end got a bit curt and said that the room would be reserved a little longer instead of being given away, as if we were being done a favor. Giving away the room would be absurd since it was already paid for online and besides, most hotels don't have any gripes about late check-ins (points off for poor customer service). The hotel staff also seemed indifferent towards the obnoxiously loud hotel guests loitering in the hallways (extra points off for lack of enforcing any courtesy policies). Despite these two drawbacks, my husband and I have no qualms about lodging here again for the sheer fact that you can't beat the amount of amenities for the price.

perfect if your staying one night!

Me and my boyfriend just needed a kinda getaway weekend, so we decided to go here since it looked nice on the internet and it was relatively inexpensive compared to some other hotels in the area. The hotel is beautiful, the rooms are very nice, bed is comfortable. If you plan on going to get something to eat around the hotel, i wouldnt recommend it. We went to pizza hut and waited 45 minutes after being sat just for our menus, we then went to burger king for coffee in the morning and they were out of everything! Another downfall about the hotel, was starting at 9pm, every two hours we recieved a call from downstairs that something with the phones was messed up and to leave the phone off the hook for an hour and then hang it back up. This went on until 9 oclock in the morning, when we were ready to leave! No sleep for me!

More than fine for the price

Paid $70 through Priceline and didn't expect much based on reviews. It was just fine. Room carpeting, furniture and walls a bit beat up. Had been a leak in ceiling and plaster hanging down in corner. Reception staff very pleasant. Shuttle efficient. Only there for 1 night but would stay again for that price. Stayed in Hampton Inn Airport week before for $40 more a night and it was better, but so is $40 in my pocket.

Our office just stayed at this hotel. We had 15 in our group, we ended up in rooms from different floors. We all felt we had pretty nice rooms. Ours was rather odd in that the "kitchen" was in the room with the double beds. With a frig, coffee maker and sink. Our beds were the best, complete with 4 pillows per bed! However, the hide a bed was less that desirable. The showers were excellent. Our friends on the 7th floor commented that they had extras in their room that the rest of didn't have. I assume from others reviews that this is their "rewards" floor. The staff didn't jump out to serve, but felt they weren't rude either. In fact we were able to arrange for their van driver to take our group out to dinner and then pick us up. We were able to take advantage of the AAA discount which entitled us to the buffet breakfast. It was nice...the usual eggs, bacon, french toast and cereals. Overall, I'd say everyone felt the hotel was very nice, and coming from 15 different people I think you can trust we "felt the place out" pretty well!

I don't know what these people are talking about! This hotel was very nice and the staff was very friendly. It just goes to show you that you shouldn't believe everything you read. I was nervous to stay here after reading some of the reviews - after staying here I realized that people like to complain (I'm sure some people truuly had bad experiences). First of all - BOOK THIS HOTEL ON A THIRD PARTY WEBSITE [unless you can get it cheaper elsewhere]. I booked this hotel through "hotwire" and asked for at least a "3 star" hotel and was given a description of a hotel that they could book me for $74.00 - I decide what the heck and I wound up with this hotel. What a value! This hotel has all suites with kitchen & work areas, an indoor pool, hot tubs, sauna, steamroom, gym, full service restaurant, shuttle service to the airport, and free parking. Also, if you went out of the parking lot and made a right and then a left at the light [Bartrum Ave] you can pick from a few places to eat that are cheaper and a better value than the hotel. We ate at the Ruby Tuesday's and had a wonderful meal!
Anyway, I thought this was a very nice hotel and I would recommend it based on the experience that my family had.

I am a very loyal Starwood customer. I'm on my 16th stay this year (not including 3 stays from mileage transferred from Amex. I got in around 9:30pm and the front desk woman had a supervisor name tag. She just asked for my credit card, and seemed bothered by my showing up. I asked what time breakfast is served and she was off by 30 mins so we missed it.

The SPG rooms on the 7th and 8th floors were dirty. Here's my synopsis:

Room 726
1. Sticky walls. Felt like someone had a syrup fight.
2. Graffitti on the wall.
3. Closet door wouldn't close.
4. Carpet was ripped and stained. I was worried about letting the kids run around without shoes.
5. Bathtub was dirty and old looking.
6. Key's wouldn't work. Needed to go to the front desk 3 times. Would have called using the courtesy phone, but it looks like someone stole it.
7. Bathroom had the bracket for the previously removed hair dryer. It had 6 sharp "hooks" to hold the hairdryer. I pulled out my pocket knife and unscrewed this since this was an obvious laceration hazzard.
8. The table in the room was warped, extremely beat up and hobbled a bit.
9. The young women at the front desk made private jokes after I asked to see a manager.
10. Really bad room shape. Really large living room, very small bathroom and bedroom.

The only good part of the trip was the bed. Very nice. The only thing upgraded since the 1970's.

I would stay at a No-Tell-Motel with a vibrating bed before I stay here again.

For my weekend in PA, my family and I checked into a Marriott. A very nice stay so far.

Much Better The Second Time Around

I gave the hotel a second chance (after my "cough cough" experience below) and had a MUCH MUCH better experience. Staff was cordial. Food in the restaurant was great. Room service is still room service. Better then not eating. And a nice excuse for lazy people like me who have to work in the room, not to leave. Employees were much nicer this time. Room was quiet and clean. And a mere 20 minute rental car jaunt from where I need to go in Bala. I *will* be back.

This hotel is a former embassy suites hotel. So the rooms were very big compared what you pay for (priceline USD 60 a night).

For the price i payed and what i got, i must say it was a nice hotel.

Horrible experience. Rooms are dirty. Room service and front desk are awful. Too many bad experiences to rehash. Do yourself a favor - stay away from this one.

Stay away from the Sheraton Suites Philly Airport

As Starwood Preferred Member soon to reach Gold status, I was very disappointed in my recent stay at the Sheraton Suites Philadelphia Airport. Even though I was the only one waiting at the front desk for check-in, the two employees kept talking and carrying on like no one was there. When I was finally helped, all I was asked was for my credit card. No one welcome me, verified how many nights I was staying, etc. I was handed my keys and that was it. The Starwood Preferred floor suites were certainly very adequate and spacious, but my customer service woes were only beginning. The service at the restaurant was extremely slow, even though the food was ok. In trying to get minimal service from employees, I felt that I was not even there. The workout room was very small and with limited old equipment. On my second day, I did not get a new bag of qtips, even though I had gone through the whole bag the day before. On a positive note, room service was good.

I truly felt like NO ONE cared that I was staying at this hotel and paying top dollar as a business traveler.

I filled the customer service card with detailed problems about my visit, but I have not heard from anyone at all. Everywhere at the hotel, they advertise a warranty about if something is not perfect, they will make it right. Certainly, my visit was less than perfect and I have a hunch it will never be made right.

One more thing: any hotel that gives letters to their guests with rules concerning excessive noise, and bans on transports of alcohol, is not a place where I want to stay.

Hotel ok, rooms need some TLC

We stayed here for 3 nights this July. The overall hotel is clean and taken care of, but the rooms need some work. We had two adjoining rooms, which seemed to be a problem when checking in. We had to wait a very long time for one of the rooms to be ready. The 1st room was large but it seems like the furniture needed to be cleaned. The couch and chair had stains and other peoples hair on it. Not very impressive. The bathrooms also needed some work. The grout in the tiles was starting to mold and in the 2nd room the countertop had a huge crack in it. The second room also was missing the hairdryer, which looked like it was ripped off the wall, but was never touched up nor replaced. The beds were VERY comfortable and the staff was very responsive to bringing us the baby's crib and extra pillows/blankets as needed.

As for breakfast, save your money and go to the Sheraton Four Points, which is right next to the Sheraton Suites. It may be a little less fancy, but you get almost the same breakfast with friendlier staff at about a $6.00 savings/per person. The food, in the Sheraton Suites resturant, for lunch and dinner is very overpriced and not that tasty. Also the wait staff is very SLOW!!

The shuttle from the Airport was great and the driver was extremely friendly.

The entire trip was not bad, but I just thought I'd touch on the points I felt were important to me and maybe some of you traveling out there.

Top Local Tips for Philadelphia

Historical Philly was built up too much over the years, actually seeing it fell short of our expectations. Just walk a few blocks of old philly eat a cheesesteak see a museum or two and your done. Get in your car and get out of town. This place is insane to drive in. They should make Pennsylvania's state motto "You Don't Need To Know" There are very few freeway signs letting you know what exits are coming up and what the speed limit is and all the other essencial things you need to know while driving on an interstate. There are stop signs on the entrance ramps and you only have seconds to get up to speed when merging into the oncoming interstate traffic. When exiting you have to drop from 55 to 20 in seconds also.

No car no problem Take the hotel van to the airport and take the Septa train downtown.
