After booking the hotel we checked out the reviews on this site and were a bit concerned. Great location in the city center but not a great hotel. We got back at 3pm on our second day to find that the room had not been made up, resulting in some rude comments from the housekeeper. As most people have commented, the towels were a sorry excuse for towels and the standard of linen in the room was not very high. The only good thing about the room was its size. We won't be staying here again.
Needs to be Renovated!
I've stayed at several hotels in the Philly/Center City area, but this has got to be my biggest disappointment. At a rate very comparable to the other hotels, this one did not measure up to standards. On the front door is a sign that says, "Hotel Suites from $895 per month". This has to be the first sign that something is wrong. The hotel is filled with young, college students, renting there because they get cheap monthly rates. They should just convert it to a full apartment community. But to keep it as a hotel/apartment home is a disappointment. The rooms need cleaning, the appliances are old and need maintenance. I'm shocked that this is a Marriott Execustay property. I expected a whole lot more from a Marriott!!! Please renovate this hotel, fast !!!
Outdated and Questionable

We came to Philly for a dance competition and came to the Windsor Hotel instead of the host hotel "Marriott" because there was a kitchen. The prices were about the same but the lodging was not! We were very upset to find a very outdated room that was questionable to stay in. The carpets were worn and wrinkled up due to the electrical cords running underneath them. There was a large bug squished on the wall and left for us to clean up. The screen on the lanai door was torn and stained. We opened the sliding door to get the mildrew smell out of the room and then couldn't close it tight again. The counters had burn marks and the bathroom was old. We packed back up and called down to the desk for another room. It was a slightly better, but we would have left competely if we hadn't already paid for 4 nights. There were no pans to cook with in the kitchen or cooking utinsels. Luckily I came with some paper plates and utinsels to use. The laundry required you purchase a card, which the hotel could not find any spare ones available. The showers had very little water in them and the towels were worn and thin. The last thing was that the pool closed too early so we missed out using it. We travel alot and I have never stayed in such an out dated, questionable hotel. I will stick to known brands and not pay prior to arriving again. If you think you are getting a good deal here...beware!
Yuk! Pass on this one at all cost.
Stayed at the "Hotel" Windsor the evening of the 4th of July. The best part of the visit was that we had a balcony on which we were able to view the fireworks at the Art Museum. This is definitely not a hotel by any real sense of the word. There seemed to be alot of rooms that were not ready by the 3:00 check in time. The kitchen area was old with burn marks on the counters and void of soap or towels. The bath belonged in a gas station, very old and not appealing to the eye. 2 bath towels were provided which is a joke by "hotel" standards. The restaurants in this hotel were not available at all (so much for room service). The bell staff and the parking garage attendants are to be commended as they seemed to be the only people really working hard at this place. When I travel I expect to stay at a place that is equal or better to how I live at home....this is not it. I'm sure I could have gotten a better price off of the net but I thought I'd do better by booking direct at the rate of $179 + @22 for parking. I will spend the extra bucks in the future and stick with a chain - at least I'll have enough towels.
Nice place to stay
The Windsor was a very nice hotel and located near many places I wanted to visit. The desk staff was quite helpful and nice. There was a leak in our bathroom but it was quickly taken care of. The full kitchen was nice although I didn't see any pots or pans there. The rooftop pool area was quite nice at night too. I would stay there again.
Enjoyed the Hotel Windsor!!

We (3 adults and baby) thoroughly enjoyed our recent 7 night stay at the hotel Windsor. We had a suite with living room, full kitchen and bedroom which made our stay so great. The rest of our vacation was spent in regular motels where we were definetly cramped.
The staff at the Hotel Windsor was so friendly and helpful. The location was great, centrally located close to museums and transportation. Loved the balcony looking out at the beautiful fountains in each direction.
We, all of us, highly recommend the Hotel Windsor as a family friendly hotel.
We loved it!
My girlfriend and I stayed here last winter while we attended a Sixers and an Eagles game. I lucked out by picking this hotel online. Lots of room, clean, kitchen with refrigerator, large bathroom, couteous staff and most important to us was the location - right near the subway so we could easily navigate the city. Parking garage next door is pretty reasonable as well. This hotel is easy to get to for being in downtown Philly. This was a great stay.
Hotel Windsor stay is economical and ideal

We had a wonderful stay at the Hotel Windsor. Staff was very accommodating and the room was spacious and well appointed. Full kitchen, dishwasher, microwave and large size refrigerator is a wonderful perk. The location was terrific, close to museums and within walking distance to historic sites and nice restaurants. We did not have a parking problem whatsoever. Pulled into the garage, bellman took our luggage and car was whisked away. A Wawa market around the corner was extremely convenient for popcorn, tea bags, etc. for late night snacking in your room. Only downside was noise level outside. Even at 3 a.m. there was a clamor of activity. Also sheets are a bit threadbare.
Rooms come complete with VCR, but no tapes to rent at the hotel. Staff was unsure where a a good rental place was. All in all, I would recommend this facility to anyone. Good price, good location.
We stayed at the hotel from March 29 and check out on April 3rd. The room was very large. There were a few glitches. Kitchenette was nice, however, no dishwashing soap or rag was provided until the second to the last day. We rinsed out our coffee cups and coffeemaker rather than washed them. Towels were often miscounted and only two towels were provided when we had three people staying. A call to housekeeping on the recorder was ignored the first time. The next day we had to mention it to the front desk and someone arrived with the additional towels. Cigarette smoke from an adjacent room permeated into our room. Upon checking in they didn't ask if we wanted non-smoking or smoking rooms so I don't know if they have such a thing. Traveler's checks are cashed with a maximum of $50 which isn't very much when you are on vacation so I had to go to a bank to cash some checks. Some restaurants in Philadelphia do not accept Traveler's checks. Garbage pick up almost every early morning nearby woke us up. Despite these glitches, we were certainly impressed by the spaciousness of the rooms.
A Mixed Bag
We stayed at the Windsor for three nights starting April 3rd. We arrived somewhat early but the room was ready and we were able to check in. We had a studio suite with two queen size beds and full kitchen.
The suite was well furnished and comfortable with the most closet space I've ever seen in a hotel room. Service, however, left something to be desired. There was only one wine glass and, although we called housekeeping as soon as we saw this, after three days they still hadn't brought a second wineglass. The people at the front desk seemed to want to be left alone and weren't very helpful with the few questions we asked. One of the restaurants on premises was closed to renovation; the other seemed to open at odd hours and the bar was only open when the restaurant opened for dinner. The location was excellent...we were able to walk to most of the sites we wanted to see. After three nights we were not unhappy to leave. The price was right and the convenience made up for the deficits.

Taxis ain't taxis
taxis don't go out of the city regularly, and they'll happily take you for a long ride... so, step one, get the concierge to call a taxi driver known to them to know the suburbs if you're traveling there. Step two, even with the good taxi driver, have a detailed map of how to get to your location and the surrounding areas so you can take control and give directions to ensure you get where you want to go even while accommodating unexpected detours;) .
Reading Market Square
be sure to visit this treasure that is within walking distance of the hotel. Oodles of eateries and specialty shops.
Don't go to Windsor - Mr Brown very impolite to guests and they over charge you
Don't go to Windsor. You'll be dissapointed. They charge you in advance, without making you aware of it and when you raise it with the permanent staff manager, Mr. James Brown he is very impolite, rude, and his only interest is to make sure not to let you go, unless he overcharged you first. Very bad customer service skills
