t waist your time

The staff was less than courteous, friendly, or attentive to our needs. The air conditioning didn't work in the lobby, elevators or hallways. Each day after housekeeping cleaned our rooms, our room keys wouldn't work. When we went to the front desk to get new keys and inquire why our keys quit working each day, the person would offer no explaination or apology. The gift shop was closed due to a flood/leak so there were industrial blower fans throughout the lobby area to try and dry up the areas. When we asked for a ride to the airport, the staff told us their shuttle vans were reserved for the airline crew or disgruntled passengers. Location is good if you're in town for a Phillies game, but don't expect much when you're at the hotel.

Aweful!

from PianomanAB
Our toilet didn't flush properly. After asking a maid (who didn't speak a lick of English), we called the front desk. They sent a guy up with a plunger and a snake. He could barely get it to flush.
The restaurant at this present time is under renovation, so they had
several tables set up in the lobby. After getting an extremely greasy
cheesesteak sub, we decided never to eat there again.
We did not get our room service, but the maid conveniently knocked on our door early this morning and asked when we were checking out...I guess that's when you'll get your only room service.

I highly discourage anyone from using this hotel.

Great Location for Sports

from FunLuvinGal
We stayed here because we were attending a Phillies game during our mini vacation to Philly. It was an average hotel. There was nothing special about it and there was also nothing horrible about it.

The walk to the park was about a block...didn't have to worry about parking which was nice. The pool was fine for an outdoor pool. We were able to watch some of the fireworks from the water, which was also cool.

The main issue I had with this hotel was the breakfast. They claim the kids can eat free. We had the buffet but the kids were not allowed to. They had to choose from a limited menu.

Would I stay here again...if I was attending a sports event in Philly...you bet.

Strictly For Sports Fans

I stayed at this hotel on June 24 of this year because of the close proximity to the airport. This hotel is in need of a rehab overall both in the rooms and the common areas. The room was large enough and clean but the bathroom showed age and the carpet was dirty. The property is fine if you are there to see the Phillies, Eagles, Flyers or 76ers, but there are no restaurants or bars in the immediate vicintiy. Close to South Philly but quite a distrance from the Central City. In the future I will stay in Central Philly and drive to any sporting events.

Thats It

My son and I stayed at this hotel for one night when we drove down to see our Mets destroy the Phillies. The Hotel is close to the ball park and thats pretty much it. It really needs to be remodeled. The rooms are old, the bathroom is even older and the water stays in the tub when you take a shower. Elevators were very slow while we stayed there. Its probably good enough for a one night stay over but dont expect much else.

Great for a sports fan

I stayed at the Holiday Inn at the Stadiums for a weekend of Red Sox/Phillies games. When I booked it online I noticed they will charge you for your full stay if you cancel your reservation. This wasn't a problem for me, but may be for some people. I was a little leary about staying there when I read some reviews about uncleanliness, but the hotel was fine. Definitely not a five star hotel and not a new hotel either, but I found nothing unclean about it. The rooms are very roomy. I was unable to order pay per view movies from my room for some reason, but I didn't care about doing that anyway.

I read some reviews about unfriendly staff. They were a busy hotel that weekend with every room filled, but the staff was friendly enough and helpful when I needed something. They are renovating the dining area so meals were being served in the sports bar to the left of the lobby. I only ate breakfast at the hotel and it was typical Holiday Inn food. Definitely no bargain meals there.

I read a review about how some people were kept waiting to check in because there were no rooms ready for them and that did happen to me as well. We arrived early and they told me there would be no rooms ready until 3:00 because they were all booked up. We returned at 3:30 and there was several people waiting in the lobby for available rooms. We were told to check back in 15 minutes because they were still cleaning rooms and there weren't any rooms ready yet. They did give us a room when we went back 15 minutes later.

The hotel is an excellent location if you are going to the sports complex or to see a concert. They do allow people to use their parking lot during events and tailgating is allowed. They also had a Red Sox/Phillies party at the hotel pavillion during the Sunday afternoon game, but there were very few people there. The tailgaters were well behaved as well. My room was very quiet with all that going on outside. If you are looking for a romantic getaway, or a spa experience this is not the hotel for you. It is also secluded from the center of Philadelphia as others have posted. If you are there for a sporting event or concert it is a great place to stay!

Best Bet For Sports Fans

I stayed at this hotel for the express purpose of attending a Phillies game. Check in was fast and friendly, and I asked for a room overlooking the ballpark. I was given Room 817, with a dead center view to Citizens Bank Park. The room was clean, if a bit worn. Shortly after I checked in, the front desk followed up with a phone call, to inquire if everything was okay with the room and if I needed anything. This was a pleasant surprise, as I've stayed at much nicer hotels and never recieved such a call. My room did overlook the section of the parking lot where the Phillies fans were tailgating. To the hotel's credit, they seem to group this bunch together, but had I not been a Philies fan myself, I probably wouldn't have been so tolerant of the noise and music that wafted up to my room. The game was at 8, but the tailgating started several hours early. It was a quck walk to the ballpark at game time, but I did observe one of the tailgaters urinating against the side of the building. Why the hotel allows tailgating I have no idea. Most of the people I saw in the hotel were wearing Phillies gear; I really don't know why anyone other than a sports fan would stay here as it's not close to anything else. I received a coupon for a free drink upon check-in, but didn't get to redeem it because the bar closed prior to me returning from the game. There's a small giftshop with mostly sports-related items on the first floor, along with a vending area, and ice and soda machines on alternate floors. I didn't use the restaurant, which I was told was under renovation, and that food would instead be served in the lobby area. I did hear a bit of noise from other rooms through the walls and ceilings, and the doors slam shut noisily, so that was annoying. But for the express purpose of being close to the ballpark, it couldn't be beat.

High price, low quality. If you are going to a game and want to be close, this may be the place for you. The web page said the hotel had been recently renovated. It smelled like a dirty ashtray. I will not be returning.

Excellent!

We only stayed here one night while checking out a NBA game at the Wachovia Centre, Philadelphia.
Excellent if you are going to check out of the sports at one of the stadiums, otherwise, a slight drive to the city. Hotel was of a very high standard and staff were courteous. I would definitely stay again.

rooms are dirty and old

from shepsle96
The lobby of the Holiday Inn Stadium is very nice - check in on a quiet Saturday night went without a problem - my wife and I had bene sent here after a problem with our PHL flights. They provide a free shuttle form PHL but you have a call by phone to request a pickup - unlike the other 'airport' hotels which have a complimentary phone at the terminals.

Until we opened our room dorry everything looked great. The room however was terrible. On the psitive side the rooms are very large. However, they are old and dated, despite the claims that the hotel was recently refurbished. Furniture was in need to being discarded. The bath was pretty badly stained and the tiles in need of changing. The big problem came however when we went to go to bed - one of the pillows was absolutely, discusitngly, filthy - it had a huge unwashed stain on it, it could have been light coffee or water, but it could also have been something else! Discusted we asked to change rooms (which as a priority gold elite I felt was only appropriate). This was achieved without any full which was great - they brought a new key to our room.

The second room was exactly the same, minus dirty pillows. Some wallpaper off the wall in the bathroom.

Staff were certainly friendly, no problem getting back to the airport. The rooms however were so terrible is that I would think twice about staying at a holiday inn anywhere in PA again.

Tony Lukes Need I say more...Go to Tony Lukes; the best cheesesteaks in the world!! Corner of Front and Oregon

Get a cheesesteak at Geno's in South Philly Rather than eating at the hotel restaurant, we took a short drive into South Philly and had cheesesteaks, birch beer, and cheese fries at Geno's restaurant.

Great Asian food in Philly Along Washington Avenue (in South Philadelp;hia) are a number of Asian malls. Fantastic restaurants catering to an Asian clientele. Food is great and prices are low.
