Convenient to many things

I stayed at the Doubletree w/my boyfriend in November of 2002. I booked the room through an internet site (not the Doubletree site) and paid $120.

The room was average size, a little crammed in the sleeping area, but the bathroom was spacious, with a dressing area just outside the lav.

The location is convenient to many things--theaters on the Avenue of the Arts (a.k.a. South Broad Street), the Kimmel Center, the Merriam Theater, Shops at the Bellvue. Also, its a quick cab ride to Old City or Rittenhouse Square. Great Restaurants nearby and the hotel bar was nice of a quick drink.

We had a Good Time at the Doubletree

My fianc? and I just returned from a weekend trip to Philadelphia. We stayed at the Doubletree hotel. Our second night was free because we booked through the Philadelphia tourist website. The hotel was nice and the service was friendly. I don?t have any complaints - I was comfortable for my entire stay.We were able to walk 1.4 miles or less to all of the tourist ?hot spots? such as Pat?s cheese steaks, The Reading Market, The Academy of Natural Sciences, South Street, etc. They also have an adjacent self-parking lot with in-and-out privileges.I would definitely stay here on my next trip to Philly. If you go, be sure to purchase a tin of the Doubletree signature cookies. They are the best!

Me and my girlfriend stayed here when we attended a friend's wedding.
The hotel staff was very courteous. The room was small but very clean and well taken care of. We came here during the stay one night, get the second free promotion which made this an even better experience for the money. I also love the cookies!

Perfect Choice

My wife and I stayed here the weekend of Dec 19 for our anniversary. We saw a show at the Kimmel Center. It is a perfect location to see a show, find a good restaurant and bar within walking distance. It's perfect to walk around the city and shop for Christmas. Easy walking to the Reading Terminal or Independence Mall too. Excellent choice for a weekend getaway!

After purchasing tickets to a show at the Kimmel Center, my husband and I decided to stay overnight in the city. We picked the Doubletree because it was the least expensive closest hotel. After staying at the dump of a Holiday Inn Philadelphia, I was pleasantly surprised by the cleanliness and efficiency of staff. The front desk and bellhops were quite courteous, even friendly at times. (For Philadelphia that is a nice gesture). The room was immaculate (I'm a nurse and I definitely notice). I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a good price and good value.

Good Value

I was seeing a play at the Merriam with my family and wanted to stay close to the hotel. For less than $100 I got a room across the street from the theater and in the heart of downtown. It was clean and comfortable. If you are looking for a decent room at a good price that puts you within walking distance of all the sights and on the subway line to the sports stadiums, this is your best bet! The only downside was that it was a bit noisy - its a large hotel so if you are looking for quiet, best to try a smaller place.

Very Nice Stay

We stayed here in October, 2003 for one night and enjoyed it very much.
It is very convenient to the Kimmel Center. The staff was nice, and the room was excellent. We have booked it for three more visits in 2004.

Wow...I'm surprised to read the other reviews. My friends and I stayed on the SleepOver package in September and we thought it was great. My room was clean, pool was nice, service was good but most of all I liked the location.

Great hotel!! great sections of philadelphia- near theatres and shopping areas- great rooms, friendly and helpful staff not to metnion the cookies were delicious! My husband and I will defintely stay here next time we come to Philadelphia!

Typical big chain brusk attitude unless you are staying the most expensive room.. Rooms overpriced, reservations all screwed up, did not want us to make any changes for their mistakes, etc, etc, etc. Look elsewhere

football,baseball or basketball Getting to the venue is easy by way of the subway.I have never had any fear going this way.It's quick,easy as well as simple.A no brainer

Subway Remember, the Philadelphia subway system stops running at night, be sure to have cab money with you at all times.

check your bill! Our adult daughter checked out of the adjacent room we had for her a day earlier than us..... THEY DISABLED OUR ROOM KEY TOO. Then they double-charged us on both room invoices the next day- Just plain careless! We had distinctly told them we were staying Friday thru Monday & she was leaving Sunday... They do not listen. "Personal service" does not exist at this hotel.
