Rice Northwest Museum of Rocks and Minerals This is considered one of the nation's top ten rock and mineral displays, but not many people know about it. It is actually in Hillsboro, just west of Portland on highway 26. Most kids love it, as do rockhounds of all ages.

You gotta eat at Jakes! For nice dining out, you gotta eat at Jakes in the Grand Hotel in downtown Portland. Nice private event room, great service, huge portions, delicious Northwest (sea food etc) cuisine.Love it. And a great brunch
