Top Local Tips for Portland
Portland Rocks! Do everything you can on your trip to Portland, its only about two hours to get to the beach and about an hour to get to Mount hood. See the waterfalls, they are amazing. Walk in Washington Park, See the Roses, the zoo and the childrens museum. Ride Max. Portland is an awesome place to visit, my husband is orginally from this area so we visit family often and do as much as we can everytime we go. I love the weather its almost always cool in the evenings take advantage of it and eat outside. Go to the winery's they are awesome and pretty close to Portland about an hours drive.
To and from the Airport Since I had just missed the bus to take me to the MAX light rail, which goes to the airport, door to door it took me about 90 minutes to get from NW Portland to the airport. From the airport can be confusing for firsttimers. You must purchase your ticket on the platform, cash or card is OK payment. Senior rates, 65+, is cheaper. Have your Medicare card on you. $2 ticket is good only 2 hours. Srs = 95 cents. $4.75 gets the entire day by date regular fare. You must validate your ticket in a marked box and retain it.
