Top Local Tips for Lincoln City
The Clifftop Inn, Oceanside Usually when you go to the coast, you spend time on the beach or comb the various tourist attractions and pig out at the best area dining destinations. That was our intention. Then we got to Oceanside, checked in and opened the room. And that's where we stayed for two days--two wonderful, peaceful, quiet days. Hidden at the top of the hill in Oceanside is the Clifftop Inn. We stayed in the Birdwatching Room. As you can see by the photos, the view is stunning. Even my perpetual motion-machine wife stopped moving and just soaked in the view. Our bed was aimed toward the sliding glass door that opens out onto a small balcony overlooking the cliff. We watched the birds, the water, the seals and sea lions and, in the evening, two gorgeous sunsets. When we did get out, the area offers fine cuisine and one of the best coffee shops on the planet. The staff is terrific. Don was our host for the two-day stay. He's warm, friendly and has one of the best laughs I've ever heard. Don is as relaxed as the Clifftop. It's an Oregon Coast secret that we hope doesn't remain that way. Check it out.
