Top Local Tips for Gearhart
The beach Did you know that you can drive on the beach in Gearhart? Well, you can, from the 10th St. access all the way up to the ship wreck of the Peter Iredale! Best to have a 4WD, but not mandatory
Places to Eat Gearhart is a very small town. The local cafe isn't always open but no fear just a few blocks up to HWY 101 and take a left (South) and head into nearby Seaside about 2 miles. In Seaside you can choose from all the typical fast food places and a lot of nice local places too. Pig-N-Pancake is a MUST. It has been here since my first visit in the early 60's There are several Seafood places as well. You can also take a left on HWY 101 (North) go to Astoria about 20 miles. there are some very amazing restaurants to choose from. Astoria is a historic city and our favorite restaurant is called The Cannery and is in one of the first (former) fish canneries in the NW. Delicous food that keeps us coming back.
Gower Street Bistro - Cannon Beach Adjacent to the Cannon Beach hotel this eatery is WELL WORTH a visit. Delicious european style cuisine, very yum. Excellent service and great location, just 1 minute walk from Haystack Rock.
