My wife and I travel to the northwest from Kentucky about once a year. We like the coast of Oregon and stay there most of the time. When we traveled to the Bend area this past February we stayed at the Riverhouse Hotel for the first time. The hotel we typically stay at, that will go unmentioned, was sold out! Lucky for us it seems. This particular part of Bend was impressive as was the Riverhouse Hotel. The room was above our expectations, the neighborhood was isolated yet close to downtown and the hotel staff incredibly nice. The morning breakfast included in our rate was definitely above average. There is a small shopping center close by with an incredible mountain range to the West. The beautiful Deschutes River is running under the bridge in this area and the sounds are heavenly from your room and around the property. We consider retiring to this area often after visiting here. I highly recommend the Riverhouse Hotel, the Bend community and the mountain range views to anyone in search of a little piece of Heaven!!! Looking forward to our next Bend visit already!

I travel frequently for work and I was very impressed with the Riverhouse Resort in Bend, Oregon. It was easy to find off the interstate and the staff was welcoming and very helpful. The Riverhouse Resort was very comfortable and affordable... the room was very nicely furnished with a large working desk area where I could keep in touch with emails and such.
One big challenge for me is finding a comfortable bed while on the road and getting good nights sleep. No problem at the Riverhouse the beds were quite comfortable with wonderful pillows. Not to mention the added benefit of being on the Deschutes River and the sound of the running water outside my door it was truly a piece of heaven. Every morning a free hot breakfast was included and it was outstanding with many different breakfast items to choose from. In the evening I tried the Crossings Restaurant and truly enjoyed the menu offerings and the knowledgeable wait staff. The food was served hot, in a timely manner and didn't disappoint. Kudos to the Chef! I know that when traveling to Bend again, it will be the Riverhouse Resort for sure.

My son and his family recently relocated to Bend, Oregon. It was recommended by one of my son's co-workers that while in Bend we stay at the Riverhouse Resort. The moment you walk into the Hotel you just know you are going to have a wonderful stay. The Riverhouse Resort staff is friendly and inviting. Is all of Bend like this? They welcomed us as if we were long lost friends. This wasn't a one-time thing either, it continued throughout our entire stay.
Our room was lovely and quite large with its own living area. It was nice having a Queen size Murphy bed so that our grandson could stay with us. The wood-burning fireplace and sounds of the Deschutes River outside our sliding balcony door made it difficult to leave.
My husband and I are hiking enthusiasts, and were delighted to have beautiful scenic trails to wander and explore. After a busy day hiking and shopping we returned to the hotel so that the entire family could relax for a bit in the indoor pool and spa.
It was very convenient to have a full hot complimentary Breakfast in the mornings. I didn't need to worry about cooking or going out to find someplace to eat every morning. It was right there and absolutely delicious. Our Grandson's favorite was the scrambled eggs.
We were so very happy with our stay, and look forward to returning to Oregon and the Riverhouse Resort when visiting our son and his family again very soon!

I have stayed in many, many resorts and topnotch hotels throughout the United States and none had a more accommodating, friendly and professional staff as what I found at the Riverhouse Resort in Bend Oregon.
I just cannot give the management enough credit for how trained their staff is and how effortlessly they handled our business meeting. I was part of a group of over 50+ attendees and the facility was well suited and prepared to handle our needs as a group as well as individually. The Convention Center is out of this world with all the high tech gadgets you could ask for as well as a well appointed business center. I spent 3 days here and couldn't think of a more wonderful place to be on business. My room was phenomenal, clean; bed was out of this world, pillows were just right, plenty of towels and a roomy bathroom as well. I would absolutely rate the Riverhouse Resort one of the best I have visited in terms of service, staff and accommodations. I would definitely go back again for business and might even plan a romantic Ski vacation with the wife in the near future. If you love outdoor activities this is the place you want to be. If you don't stay at the Riverhouse Resort in Bend, you will regret it.

My husband and I are from Portland and we planned a weekend getaway in beautiful Bend, Oregon at the Riverhouse Resort. We have been to Bend many times and the beauty of the area keeps us coming back. We typically stay elsewhere but had heard wonderful reviews about the Riverhouse Resort and thought we would give it a go.
We requested a room overlooking the Deschutes River and were surprised to get exactly what we asked for. If you are avid travelers like we are, you know that is not always the case. The staff was very accommodating and made us feel at home the instant we arrived.
Our room was beautiful and very comfortable with a lovely patio overlooking the river. One of the highlights was leaving our door propped open at night to to hear the sounds of the water.
We love to walk and hike and this is the place to do it. The trails are surrounded by trees and flowers and the hikes are very peaceful. My husband is a weekend golfer and can't wait to come back and attempt The River's Edge 18-hole Championship Golf Course.
Breakfast at the Riverhouse Resort was almost more than we could manage. The Crossings had a wonderful breakfast menu and I would highly recommend the Hood River Apple Pancake. It's not a healthy option by any means but so worth it. We noticed their dinner menu looked outstanding as well and look forward to trying the steakhouse on our next visit.
Our trip was everything we had hoped for. We have a new place to call home when visiting Bend, Oregon and it's the Riverhouse Resort.

Smells Moldy

Stayed one night in the second building along the river in the bottom floor. Hallways smelled moldy -- the kind of moldy smell that in the northwest means problems in the walls. Rooms were nice and not moldy smelling. Nice footbridge spanning the river -- if at all possible stay in the rooms on the west side (other side of the river from main office), rooms are more modern and hallways didn't smell of mold.

We have stayed at the Riverhouse before, but will never stay there again. We made a reservation for July 30 on the website. The reservations website has issues, and this was acknowledged by the reservations manager, Jody. The email confirmation I received did not have any of the stay details, only the reservation number and a link to the broken reservations website. I phoned a few days before arrival to confirm our reservation, and they informed me that they expected me the week before, and that they had already charged my card $185! They didn't even call me to tell me that they were charging me. I spoke with the manager, JR, and despite explaining that we wouldn't return if he refused to refund our money, he proceeded to refuse our request! It sounds like we aren't the first people to encounter difficulties with the management, as I've seen similar reviews on the web. There are plenty of hotels in Bend - no need to waste your time here. The location is lousy by comparison anyway.
Fantastic Dining

I was in Bend for a business trip and my company put me up at the Riverhouse. The room was very clean and spacious with a great view of the river.
But what really stood out for me was Crossings restaraunt located at the hotel. Our server was very courteous and accommodating to myself and those i was traveling with. I ordered the prime rib and was presented with an ENORMOUS steak that was tender as any meat I've ever had. The dessert was incredible. I ordered the oreo cheesecake and the presentation was far beyond any I have seen at any restaraunt. The plate was decorated beautifully with chocolate and creme anglaise and the cake was surrounded with whipped cream and berries. One of my dining partners ordered the chocolate sack and it was unlike anything i had ever seen. It was literally a chocolate bag filled with light and dark mousses floating on raspberry sauce and surrounded with whipped cream and berries. And whats more, there was a white chocolate fan sticking out the top! The whole thing was at least 12-14" tall.
Fantastic food, amazing service. Great place to stay.

Top Local Tips for Bend
A Walk Along the River When in Bend, the one thing you have to do is to walk around the river's edge. The town has set up a lovely walkway between the park and the water, with views of the mountains and the million dollar homes that reside across the water.
Great BBQ Baldies BBQ is the best in town. Great service, great taste, moderate price. Definitely a local favorite
Volcanoes Bend is a great center for exploring volcanoes in the area: Pilot Butte, Lava Butte, Lava River Cave, Lava Cast Forest, Big Obsidian Flow (awesome), Mt. Bachelor.
