| Beautiful Resort |
|
My husband and I are from Portland and we planned a weekend getaway in beautiful Bend, Oregon at the Riverhouse Resort. We have been to Bend many times and the beauty of the area keeps us coming back. We typically stay elsewhere but had heard wonderful reviews about the Riverhouse Resort and thought we would give it a go.
We requested a room overlooking the Deschutes River and were surprised to get exactly what we asked for. If you are avid travelers like we are, you know that is not always the case. The staff was very accommodating and made us feel at home the instant we arrived.
Our room was beautiful and very comfortable with a lovely patio overlooking the river. One of the highlights was leaving our door propped open at night to to hear the sounds of the water.
We love to walk and hike and this is the place to do it. The trails are surrounded by trees and flowers and the hikes are very peaceful. My husband is a weekend golfer and can’t wait to come back and attempt ... Read more |

| Smells Moldy |
|
Stayed one night in the second building along the river in the bottom floor. Hallways smelled moldy -- the kind of moldy smell that in the northwest means problems in the walls. Rooms were nice and not moldy smelling. Nice footbridge spanning the river -- if at all possible stay in the rooms on the west side (other side of the river from main office), rooms are more modern and hallways didn't smell of mold. |

| Lots of Problems - Read all Reviews |

We have stayed at the Riverhouse before, but will never stay there again. We made a reservation for July 30 on the website. The reservations website has issues, and this was acknowledged by the reservations manager, Jody. The email confirmation I received did not have any of the stay details, only the reservation number and a link to the broken reservations website. I phoned a few days before arrival to confirm our reservation, and they informed me that they expected me the week before, and that they had already charged my card $185! They didn't even call me to tell me that they were charging me. I spoke with the manager, JR, and despite explaining that we wouldn't return if he refused to refund our money, he proceeded to refuse our request! It sounds like we aren't the first people to encounter difficulties with the management, as I've seen similar reviews on the web. There are plenty of hotels in Bend - no need to waste your time here. The location is lousy by comparison anyway. |

| Fantastic Dining |
|
I was in Bend for a business trip and my company put me up at the Riverhouse. The room was very clean and spacious with a great view of the river.
But what really stood out for me was Crossings restaraunt located at the hotel. Our server was very courteous and accommodating to myself and those i was traveling with. I ordered the prime rib and was presented with an ENORMOUS steak that was tender as any meat I've ever had. The dessert was incredible. I ordered the oreo cheesecake and the presentation was far beyond any I have seen at any restaraunt. The plate was decorated beautifully with chocolate and creme anglaise and the cake was surrounded with whipped cream and berries. One of my dining partners ordered the chocolate sack and it was unlike anything i had ever seen. It was literally a chocolate bag filled with light and dark mousses floating on raspberry sauce and surrounded with whipped cream and berries. And whats more, there was a white chocolate fan sticking out the top! The... Read more |
