I stayed here five days while skiing at Mt. Bachelor. Refrigerator, microwave, comfortable bed, good shower, heater, cable tv, clean, quiet. Friendly management. I came to ski, not stay in a fancy hotel, so the amenities were perfect for me,as was the price. If I come back to Bend, this is the first place I'll check for lodging.

I feel this is a mom and pop operation and is way over priced. First they charge for more than 2 people even when its children. Second nothing extra, just soap and wash cloths and towels. No shampoo etc. The interior is old but clean. The parking is hard to come by and it states it comes with a boat but you have to ask about it they give no information. Then the boat is free but realize you must pay for the gas. We used 3 hrs and cost $12 for gas. They have bait but it also is costly $5 for dozen frozen shrimp. And finally they state $150 a night but after tax and tip (which they take automatically) $192.00 a night and I think you can find a better place for the price.

I'm surprised by the reviews which describe dodgy people hanging around and unclean rooms. Definately hasn't been our experience, we've stayed there several times, the rooms are always clean and quiet (low budget and tacky decor, yes...), and the Indian couple who runs it is friendly. The price is usually 45$ in the fall and can't be beat.

This was a nice little clean room. Cheap, and when I left my sunglasses in the room, they saved them for me!

My daughter was stranded in Bend due to car problems and most motels were full. Someone at Phoenix Inn actually recomended this motel saying it looks bad on the outside, but it's o.k and clean. My daughter called me after getting into her room saying there were several men hanging around who were leering at her when she went inside. The room had dirty towels for curtains, and wasn't just old, but smelled stale and moldy. They offered to move her to a different room and to their credit they did give her a refund. So, if you end up at the Rainbow, take a look at the room before you check-in to make sure you don't get in the "long term guest" section.

After Motel room got raided by the Bend police force for a guest selling drugs we decided to accept our loss and leave with no refund. The carpet had stains and burns in it, the heater didn't work, and the entire room smelled like fish. After we complained the Motel clerk told us "no refunds, that's the policy" . We had only been in the room for 3 minutes when we asked for our money back. These people are sketchy at best. Very odd operation and horrible customer service skills.. Ruined our whole trip

My husband and I always stay at the Rainbow Motel in Bend when we visit. It is very clean, quiet, close to town (a 10 minute walk)--and the price if great for our budget. If you don't need glitz--choose the Rainbow.
