We had a wonderful visit to the Cannery Pier Hotel. The view of the river, bridge, and marina were outstanding. The decor is beautiful, but we felt there were too many pictures of fish and the old cannery Only negative for us was the continental breakfast. Too few choices, but what was there was very good. We are looking forward to going back in the summer, when there will be more river traffic.

It is very nice. No noise except the birds, wonderful view of the river, bridge, ships etc. We walked in and they had empty rooms so they gave us about $70 off. I would do it again in a minute.

Top Local Tips for Astoria
Chocolate wine? Definitely take a trip to the Shallon Winery on Duane St. The gentleman who owns the winery and creates the wines is full of information, and where else can you get Chocolate wine?!
Look at Astoria Astoria is a great place to walk around, it is an old town and not "touristy" in the way of Cannon Beach, etc. Parts of it are very steep, so be prepared to exercise. And bring a raincoat!
Walking The walk along the waterfront is nice but the warehouses block alot of the views.
