Simply put....awesome! Great service and a wonderful pool that was very clean with a nice swim up bar. Breakfast was great and included.

we stayed there for three nites and had a great time.its in walking distance to everything downtown and all the clubs and entertainment.very helpful and nice staff and owners. we will be back.the room was very clean.and the service was great.a 5star hotel at a very good price!

Nicest Place to Stay on the Island!

We reserved 2 Grand Luxury Suites on July 10, 2005. Hotel is very clean, and staff is friendly and helpful. Room notes: Although the description of the room describes it has having 2 bedrooms, each with 2 queen beds, we found that one bedroom only had 1 king bed. Room was nice, with the shower and toilet in a separate room. A lot of bathroom counter space, with 2 sinks. Nice assortment of bath products(including makeup remover!), but no shower caps, in case you use those. Rooms were clean, but our radio didn't work. A nice upgrade to the room would be a CD player and perhaps offering in-room movies. Beds are comfortable, except for the pillows, which are really high and gave me a stiff neck and back the entire next day(next time, I will bring my own!). Kitchen was basic, with a mini-fridge, microwave, and paper towels. You must provide your own utensils and plates as none are provided. It is still a great feature of the room. Breakfast details: Complimentary breakfast was a little skimpy-very basic, but it is free after all. Simply cereals, toast, a small selection of fruit, and assorted coffees and juices. Some breakfast pastries or donuts, or perhaps a larger fruit assortmant would be a great upgrade. They offer a more extensive breakfast on Saturdays served poolside for about $8. This includes everything like eggs, waffles, etc. Pool details: Nice-a little on the small side and can get quite crowded on the weekends. Jacuzzi is wonderful. "Waterfall" advertised on website is really just a little spray of water shooting across the pool. Location: Just steps from downtown (yet far enough away to get a good night's sleep). Golf cart rental available on-site. Liquor store/grocery is also close by. There is really no view of the lake from the hotel. I would stay here on my next trip, or perhaps even the Bayshore, with it's lake views. Any questions, please email.

Our family arrived at Put In Bay hotel with no expectations as we have never been here before. However, after reserving a 2 Queen Bed Luxury Suite, we were pleasantly surprised as to the layout and cleanliness. Sure, it's new, but compared to the other hotels, this is a great value. Of course, due to the "party nature" of the island, there are bound to be quite a bit of knuckleheads who've imbibed too much and thus make fools of themselves. But judging the hotel itself, it's a fine establishment and I would highly recommend it. I travel 175 nights per year and this hotel meets my standards. Good job to the management.

Good Hotel

Stayed just after the fourth with the entire family and had a great time. The hotel is brand new, clean, and very nice. Overall, hotel staff were friendly and the management had things in control. Swim up bar is BYOB at this point, until they get a liquor permit. Friends stayed at the Bayshore and it is very nice as well. The crowd at the Bayshore seemed a little older. The Bayshore has a much better view (direct view of the Lake at all times), but the Put in Bay Resort is more centrally located on the island and less expensive. We are not related to hotel management/ownership as stated in one of the other reviews. I would not hesitate to stay at either the PIB Resort or Bayshore. Note to any hotel management checking these reviews-continue to keep out the rowdy guests, they have plenty of places to go and stay on PIB! The attached photo shows the pool, tiki bar, and next door house as some writers noted in their reviews.

I have been vacationing at Put n Bay for over 18 years now and have seen many changes over the years at the places where you can stay but the stay at this resort hotel was the best by far. It is off the beaten path from the main street downtown, within walking distance to all the main nightly entertainment, but my preference is to rent a golf cart.
The atmosphere is like being in another Country at an all Exclusive Resort, well once the bar gets up and runinng in full it will be complete, but we were able to take our own beverages to the Pool bar or if you did not have any, the Hotel staff would provide transportaion to the drive thru or go get it for you for a noimal fee.
The hotel staff was very accommodating once they knew how to help me for for I discovered alot of them were foreign, for which I am told alot of establishments at Put n Bay have foreigners for their staff. To me that's not unusal, like I said, it's like being in a different country.
I met alot of new friends at the pool and jacuzzi and they were all to willing to share their cocktails with me until I got my own. The food served at The Blue Marlin Pool Bar was very good, well above average and believe me I've eaten everywhere on this Island. As far as the rooms, very very nice and the noise was comparable to staying in any lively hotel environment on a weekend.
I will most definetley return to Put n Bay Resort Hotel and Conference Center, I am looking forward to using the Conference Center for my next business trip.

Worst experience of my life

Absolutely horrible! Staff and mgmt were rude and disorganized. We booked a six person suite and recieved a 1 bedroom with a queen. The Tiki bar was a lie---no bar. Save your money and book another hotel on the Island.

It Was a Wild Weekend

It seems there are some pretty adamant view about this hotel one way or the other. We took it all with a grain of salt and decided to stay this past weekend because we had heard last year how great it was supposed to be.

We were not disappointed by the hotel nor the pool, but were a bit upset that the bar was not open and upset that not all of the guests can act like adults. And an FYI, just because you claim to be a firefighter from New York, which is an admirable thing, that does not give you the right to act like a child, which was the case with the people who ruinded everyone's stay that night.

The pool rocked all weekend. It was a hot weekend, so the pool was much needed. It would have been nice to have the bar open, but it was even nicer to be able to bring in our own beer at a tenth of the price (if you have been on the island, you know how much they jack up the alcohol prices).

The staff or owner or bouncer, nor sure which, was definitely not in the best mood at 3am when all the drunken idiots were making so much noise in the halls. They even discharged a fire extinguisher in the halls which made a huge mess. If I had had kids with me, I would have been pretty perturbed. All in all, I think the situation was handled well, since it did not happen on the next night.

It would have been nice to have had a breakfast buffet in the morning, but I guess it was a holiday weekend so that may have been a bit much to ask, so we ended up walking down to Irvings for a bagel sandwich, which was pretty good actually.

I would suggest that the hotel post their rules better or have night security better enforce rules, but all in all, this Resort is pretty darn nice. Much better than some of the older places we have stayed in on the Island in the past on previous visits.

I stayed @ this new hotel for the first time over the Fourth of July holiday. I was a bit hesitant since the hotel was new but the accomadation were great. The staff was very pleasant and there was plenty of fun at the pool. It was great place to people watch and mingle while poolside. You have to check out the 40 person hot tub! DIRK

Top Local Tips for Put in Bay

Tips Getting Around - Use J.D.'s Cab Co; Ask for Jeremy.. he was the best & most fun taxi driver you could ever ask for! Things to do - Dining: Go to The Boardwalk Upper Deck resturant! BEST FOOD and 100% water views.. as far as the eye can see! BEAUTIFUL VIEWS!!!! Also, bring your car on the island. If not, you're screwed! Golf carts only go slow and they rip you off to rent them. It's a lot cheaper to bring your car!

Jet Express Take the Jet Express from Port Clinton, or Sandusky, Ohio and you will be just a few blocks from the Put-in--Bay Resort, The jet Express runs late night service all summer and ports right downtown. The Put-in-Bay Resort is just a block away from the busy downtown strip and beautiful Put-in-Bay harbor, you will feel the stress melt away fro the moment you set foot on this beautiful island paradise.

The best way to travel in Put in Bay It is well worth every dollar spent to rent the golf carts! We had one for two days and toured the majority of the island. It was fun driving in it too!
