Find it at a great price
from TyleratCP
I have stayed at this hotel quite a bit. The main reason is for the bed - it is just great! I would agree that the rooms are a little worn, but I really like staying at this hotel. I know what to expect.
Make sure you look on their website for their best available rate. They are always running weekend specials.
If you can snag this for under $100, I say go for it. Two people is the most I would want a in a room.

Hotwire it!
from Wandering_Scout
Absolutely worth every penny if you didn't pay full price. I have stayed twice at this Sheraton and both times I have booked through Hotwire and have paid under $60 a night. For an all suite hotel in the ever more expensive Columbus its a great deal. It isn't clsoe to downtown but if thats OK with you give it a try.
Gave it a second try - mistake

Recently, our travel department booked me into the Sheraton in Columbus for a three night stay as the Sheraton is close to offices we have in suburban Columbus. I have stayed at the Sheraton once before and was reluctant to stay there again. But I am a Starwood Gold member and I think I have an opportunity to reach Platinum this year, so I was willing to stay at the Sheraton in Columbus again.
Sheratons are pretty hit or miss across the chain, but most are pretty comfortable and have most amenities that a business traveller will need. This Sheraton offers most the amenities, but the quality of the amenities falls short.
I have a pet peeve about hotels and high speed Internet access and this hotel really angers me in that a) wi-fi was unavailable - I was tethered to the jack in the living room; and b) I had to pay for it. The room rate was not inexpensive for suburban Columbus and I know other hotels in the area don't charge for Internet access.
After eating at the hotel the first time I stayed there, I knew better than to get room service this time. So I was really surprised that there was a room service charge on my bill when I checked out. The woman at the front desk was a little reluctant to remove the charge at first, but eventually removed the charge when I asked to see their charge receipt to see who signed for the food.
On the plus side, you get Starwood points for staying at this Sheraton and it is in the heart of the Northern suburbs if that is convenient for your travel.

Great Hotel
from bigdave466
This hotel is a true 3.5 star, exactly what we paid for and expected. The room was clean, bed was comfortable, and the hotel was in a good location. The A/C unit was kind of shaky (thermostat didn't really work), but other than that, everything was great. Would stay here again if the price is right.

Didn't even stay a night in this place.
Used gum and a band aid in the elevator were our first warning signs.
Room had hairs in the sink, crooked lamp shades and a stain on the sheets.
Place felt run down, doors to mini-bar loose on hinges.
We looked at a second room though disgusted, then left for another place.
Location is in a strip mall. I don't know how this is the #1 recommended hotel in Columbus.
They were good about not charging us when we complained but this is definatly a college hotel, not a place for adults to stay.

Pleasant and comfortable
from waynelaw78
Stayed one night here. The rooms are somewhat cozy to be referred to as "suites," but they are divided with french doors, and the space was adequate for two people. Did not notice wear and tear as mentioned by previous reviewer. Staff was attentive and accommodating, providing a late checkout with no problem on a busy weekend.
Hotel was quiet even though full, and a good rate ($89) made it more enjoyable. Pool area and exercise room were certainly above average.
There are several hotels in the area, but I can't imagine that any would be much better.

This place was acceptable. It seems a bit old and knocked about. We had a king suite, but calling these tiny cells "suites" is pushing it a bit. When the sofa bed was opened in the living room, the end of it touched the TV, making it impossible to walk through the room. You had to go around through the bedroom and bathroom if you wanted to get from the table to the front door without crawling across the sofa bed.
Similarly, the massive king bed in the little bedroom didn't leave much room for getting around, which means that you're tripping over each other quite a lot to get to the dresser or the closet.
Broken, but operable, fixtures in the (again, tiny!) bathroom. Newish quilt but old, pilled blanket on the bed. The bed was not lumpy or saggy, but wasn't anything special either, despite the advertised Sweet Sleep thing.
Good service, nice people. Inexpensive and tasty breakfast buffet on the weekends.

My husband and I stayed here on May 14, 2005 and we were very pleased with the room. King suite was roomy, clean, and nicely decorated. The bed and linens were wonderful - it almost felt like home! Even though there were lots of kids in the hotel due to a volleyball tournament, we never heard any noise from the other rooms or hall and slept great.
Great for families
from A TripAdvisor Member
We had a great stay in early April at the Sheraton Suites Columbus. This is not a full-sized suite but offers plenty of space for a family to get away from each other. There is large living area and a much smaller bedroom. The design allows you to access the bathroom from either area so you don't disturb someone in the middle of the night. This was especially helpful because we were traveling with an infant and he wakes up rather easily in the night.
The indoor pool was in good condition and always had towels available. It also had good open hours. The outdoor pool was still closed for the season.
We loved the new guarantee policy. We had a problem with our keys on the third day and the manager quickly asked us what she could do to make it better. I asked for complimentary drinks from the bar and she said "no problem". It made me feel like a welcome guest.
I would highly recommend this property.

Absolutely the best bed in town
from JudiandBill
The Sheraton Suites claims to have the best most comfortable Sleep of all the hotels, and I really agree. I travel often, and have stayed elsewhere in the Columbus area. No where else do you get a king sized bed with a pillow top mattress, and a myriad of pillows both down and polyester to choose from. The front desk staff has always been most friendly. When I was there last week I asked for a smoking room and realized once in the room there were no ashtrays. I called the desk and within 3 minutes, I had ashtrays. I have stayed here now 4 times, and each time the service, the room and the food have been excellent. I will continue to stay here time and time again.
Top Local Tips for Columbus
Don't miss Jeni's Ice Cream Every time I'm in Columbus I have to stop at Jeni's ice cream. I was introduced to the place by my SO's family. They have the most creative and original ice cream flavors, and the ice cream is just delicious. The first time I went there I had sweet corn ice cream with blackberry sauce, which was outstanding. This last visit I had a scoop of black coffee ice cream and a scoop of Queen City chocolate, which had cinnamon and cayenne pepper in it. If you're a person who loves unique, exciting ice cream flavors, this place can't be beat!
